Susan did a great job as a tour guide. A good way to learn more about Hawaiian culture and cuisine. Only 4 stops but size of food samples were larger than had on previous tours. Fish burrito to start with and bakery to select what you wanted at end were our favorites. Samples of taro burger, poke, and sushi were okay and provide tastes of local food, though not our favorites. All stops within easy walking distance so would be manageable by most everyone.

Susan is a great storyteller and we learned a lot of Hawaiian history. Super accommodating with our picky eaters/diet preferences and added our little kid for no extra charge. I would have liked to know a little more about the people/processes from the food trucks and restaurants, and why she chose to showcase them over the many others.

It wasn’t bad… it wasn’t good. It was simply ehhh. The guide was a very nice lady. The “tour” was 4 places where you got a sample 1/2 of a single menu item) of something the place served. The first place was a fish market where we had 1/2 of a wrap. It was quite good. The second place served 1/2 of a pork sandwich which was nothing special. The third was a grocery store that had a kind of deli… where we had 1/2 of a Taro burger (look it up… we had to 😀). Again… OK. The last stop was a bakery where you could choose one item. All of the selections seemed quite good. Each stop seemed awkward… as if the restaurant/store had no idea we were coming, which I think was actually the case 😂). It was very unorganized an we had significant waits at each location… except the bakery. Along the way she tried to share a bit of history of the Island(s)… but it seemed like she simply read a Wikipedia page rather than having any real knowledge or insight. Leading a tour is a difficult thing. To talk with people for 3 hours requires some level of expertise. This seemed to be lacking on both the food and the history. At one point, completely out of context she began talking about how unfair colonialism is, how billionaires are taking over the island and how native Hawaiians can’t afford to live there. She went on for a few minutes then ended her speech with, “I’m just saying that to be fair.” Wait…What? Fair?? To who… in what sense? One minute she’s telling us about a Taro burger… the next was the evils of billionaires, the government and missionaries. Her little rant was out of the blue. Not connected to anything that was going on. It’s obviously an issue that is bothering her… but … it was just a weird… particularly for a food tour. All in all…. It wasn’t horrible… it just wasn’t that good or interesting. Surely not worth the $125 per person price tag.

Nice tour of local small restaurants but not worth the price. Needs to be around $75-$85 per person. Tour guide was great and was very knowledgeable. She ordered for us and we received half portions and she told us history and facts. Not enough time between meals so hard to eat fast, then eat again. Enjoyed supporting local businesses.

Susan was a wonderful tour guide. We started at Aloha ginger beer. Met the owner. A very nice person. Had an outstanding sausage. On to Poke nachos at Robs grill. Very good. Then dessert. Thank you Susan.

This tour was booked back in September then I reconfirmed the tour in March only to have it canceled 2 days before with no other option, private or otherwise. They gave me an excuse of a corporate tour and it shouldn't have been on the website which means the staff are not informed, poor training or groups $$ are more important, not customer service. Unable to book another tour such short notice. Really disappointing. Wasting time and money trying to find something instead of enjoying my time in Hawaii. Never recommend

Susan was fantastic and the food tour was amazing. The history she shared was also very interesting. She also provided a lot of great ideas for other places to visit while on our trip.

The walking food tour in Kapaa was a great experience. We love our tour guide Susan. She was caring, attentive and flexible. We tasted some of the best island food. She provided good insights to Kauai's history and also shared other places we can visit while staying on the island. Because of her recommendation, we were fortunate to see sea turtles resting in Poipu Beach.

I would not recommend this. I booked months in advance. I received a reminder of the event. No one showed up… it was a hassle to get it cancelled.. my elderly parents and teenagers were advised to be hungry..it was a total disappointment. They can’t be trusted. There is just no way that they didn’t know they wouldn’t be there. I was fortunate to receive a full refund… but nothing compensates our time, frustration and inconvenience… which was completely preventable
