Pro: The guide was extremely cautious and stressed safety over all else
Con: Very expensive for the limited experience
We had a group of 6 on 3 ATVs, which was US$1600+. The tour-guide needed to gauge the group's ability to ride them properly and took us around the island. That was helpful since it felt counter-intuitive compared to motorcycles. Before the tour, he said (at least that was my understanding of what he said) that if anyone in the group is uncomfortable, he can get a vehicle to pick them up and rest of us can continue with the experience, but when we asked him to do so, he did not accommodate as promised. Some of us were really excited to go on the mountains with the ATVs, but we weren't able to do so with the passengers in tow. After a lot of back and forth, he took my wife on his back-seat and let me rode up the mountain a bit. (The other 4 members of our party had to wait for us in a parking lot) There were roads on the mountain that we could've taken to go much further up but we didn't. On the way up to where we stopped at, there was a truck with passengers in the bed on their way down, so it really wasn't that dangerous. I appreciate his insistence on safety but also felt that we got short-changed. He complained that we took too long, an hour longer than the typical tour, but we spent a good 30 minutes stopped at a sarong place that belonged to his friend. At least they didn't push us to buy anything. I felt the the ROI for this tour was significantly lower than all the other tours we went on.
