Eye-level whale watching onboard our low-to-water small group adventure vessels. Native Hawaiian owned and voted TripAdvisors Traveler's Choice, Hawaii Ocean Rafting has been Maui’s original ocean rafting experience for more than 30 years. Our small group tours make for a fun, family style experience. Although whales are protected in Hawaii and we do not approach them closer than federal regulations, they often approach our small boats for closer and eye level whale encounters.
We are just a short drive from Kaanapali, Kahana, Napili, Kapalua and other West Maui accommodations. And a fun destination for visitors staying in Kihei or Wailea.

This whale watching excursion was great. Our captain Darryl was awesome. Since it's close to the end of whale watching season I wasn't expecting to see much, but Darryl was able to find lots of mama/baby/escort whales in the area the entire 2 hours we were on the water. A few even swam underneath our boat.
I normally get very seasick, but a double dose of Dramamine and sitting at the front of the boat worked well. We'd highly recommend this tour.

Great tour, great crew, thank you! We went out on the very last day for whale watching and got right next to a baby and mother humpback, as well as her male escort. We also started out the tour seeing bottle nose dolphins and a whole group of spinner dolphins. Awesome experience for the kiddos to have.

Excellent while watching trip tour guides Jack and Val I would let them them for future trip we saw whales breaching and we saw Minnie spinner dolphin. Thank you both.

We werent sure what to expect, even with the reviews. Im glad we stuck it out because it was one of our best experiences in Maui. We saw plenty of whales and dolphins jumping and spinning in the air. Jack and Val were awesome and really made the entire experience enjoyable with knowledgeable facts and peace of mind. What a great decision!

The crew were amazing ! Very knowledgeable and were as excited to see the whales as we were ! They told us about the whale behaviour and were respectful of keeping the distance from the whales…. Not that it stopped the whale from coming under the boat !
