This was such a fun activity that boosts the heritage of Cozumel. We learned so much of the culture while tasting some excellent spirits. Vanessa was amazing!!

The excursion is as described. The only issue I had was the tequila tasting only had one brand of tequila (silver, respasado and anejo) I was expecting more options. Also, the tequila could only be purchased in Mexico which doesn't really help me decide what to purchase at home. I have went to free tastings that offer more. We asked for recommendations at home and he only recommended really expensive tequila. I have had reasonable price tequila that tasted excellent. The tacos are good and pairings fun, but disappointed in the actual tequila tasting. The mezcal tasting had more variety, but I really don't like mezcal as much as tequila.

Daniel was such a knowledgeable and personable connoisseur of tequila and Mezcal. And he shared recipes as well that I can’t wait to try. I could have spent days there learning from him. I will absolutely be back! I highly recommend this experience. You won’t be sorry.

This is a fantastic experience! Danny is such an enthusiastic ambassador for Mexico and its food and spirits. Unlike other tastings, he goes deep into the history and crafting of mezcals and tequila. He shares his passion and his expertise in a lovely generous way. The food was a huge surpise and so delicious! There can be no better way to experience Mexico and its culture! If you do one thing in Cozumel -- do this!

I don’t usually write many reviews but Danny’s tasting was the BEST — and I live near Napa so we go wine tasting at some of the best wineries in the world regularly. Danny is a true jack-of-all-trades — mezcal/tequila historian, professionally trained chef, and small businessman. The pairings were fantastic and a real experience to try how they alter the way the tequila / mezcal tastes so you can appreciate different notes. I really enjoyed hearing more about the origins of the alcohol and how to find good quality (which is often difficult in tourist areas). Even took three bottles home so I could try to replicate the experience with friends at home! Can’t recommend this highly enough. We were lucky enough to get a private tasting and Danny was great, answering all our questions about Mexican history, culture and mezcal!
Definitely book this if you have a chance!

Danny was amazing. He knew his spirits, food, history and culture. A very Rennaissance experience. All set in an AC bar over looking the Caribbean. Does it get any better. He went over all aspects of tequila and mescal. Plus tastings and an incredible lunch afterwards. I highly recommend for anyone that really wants to understand and enjoy fine tequila or mescal.

Daniel gave us one of the most memorable travel experiences of all time! We learned about and tasted some amazing tequilas and mezcals along a delicious, authentic taco lunch! He was extremely knowledgeable and professional with a touch of humor. Our group couldn’t have asked for a more enjoyable and compressive
experience - complete with a taxi back to the ship lol!

We were lucky enough to experience the “Become a Tequila and Mezcal Connoisseur” excursion. First, I will say this experience exceeded all of our expectations. Saying that Daniel was knowledgeable of the iconic Mexican spirit, is an understatement. He delivered an immersive and informative experience that was one not to be forgotten. We walked away with a few bottles of truly authentic Mezcal and we look forward to passing on even a piece of the knowledge Daniel has equipped us with. I highly recommend this for anyone with even a small interest in the smoky and authentic taste of a Mezcal. ¡Salud!
