5. Our Lady of the Rocks
Our Lady of the Rocks is one of the two islets off the coast of Perast in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro. It is an artificial island created by bulwark of rocks and by sinking old and seized ships loaded with rocks. The Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of the Rocks is the largest building on the islet; it has a museum attached. According to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by local seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and Child on the rock in the sea on 22 July 1452. Upon returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the Bay. Over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea. The custom of throwing rocks into the sea is alive even nowadays. Every year on the sunset of 22 July, an event called fašinada in the local dialect, when local residents take their boats and throw rocks into the sea, widening the surface of the island, takes place. The church was renovated in 1722.

This private tour in Dubronvick was one of the best private tours I’ve had . The trip was curated to my needs and even though it was an extremely hot day Elvir went out of his way to ensure we stayed cool and enjoyed the day .

Elvir took us on such a an amazing adventure! He is so easy going and knows places to go that only locals would know. We saw the highlights of the places tour buses would take tourists, but it was all the other jewels of the area that you wouldn't have ever known about if it wasn't for such an amazing tour guide. Elvir also is very considerate and gives you choices on what is available. If you are unable to walk very much he finds another way for you to see the areas. We so enjoyed our adventure with Elvir. We can't thank him enough for such a wonderful day!

I had the best time to my trip Montenegro with Elvir. Elvir was not only friendly but also incredibly helpful to me and my family throughout the journey. Having a reliable and pleasant individual like him truly made this incredibly memorable. He went out of his way to address every concern and was very patient throughout. Montenegro was absolutely beautiful. A must visit. A very calm and beautiful country.

Elvir took me and my two friends to Montenegro today , what a trip! It was absolutely spectacular , from start to finish , Wlvir , went out of his way to show us the most fabulous places, and was so pleasant and informative. It was the best trip ever !!!!!!!

Elvir is informative, attentive and easy going. He took us to some amazing spots for photograph opportunities and listened to our requests. He is enthusiastic and you would never know he has seen these places many times! Go with Elvir. You won't be disappointed!

Montenegro was one of a kind! Small quaint towns with a lot of history. It was a good idea of booking a private tour. You will have your itinerary and own time at specific areas! Our driver Elvir instantly became our friend as he showed us amazing places in Montenegro. We was knowledgeable of the place and the history. Our ride was comfortable and we did not need to share ride with a common bus tour with limited time at certain places. We had a great time in Montenegro! We also did not need to wait for long in the border compare to a whole tourist bus! 👌🏻
