Karnak Temple, called by some “the Temple of Temples.” It is the largest place of worship ever built. Its ancient name Ipet-Isut means “the most sacred of places.” The temple, or, more correctly, the complex of temples, was built over more than two thousand years by generation after generation of pharaohs. Within the complex, the great “Hypostyle Hall” is an incredible forest of giant pillars covering an area larger than the whole of Notre Dame Cathedral.
The graceful Temple of Luxor built by Amenhotep III and Ramses II for ritual and festivals and dedicated to the god Amun

After cruising north from ASWAN via EDFU, we reached and docked in LUXOR! We spent a busy day in the Magnificent KARNAK temple and then the LUXOR temple too .. followed by the SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW IN KARNAK ..
Thanks again to GATE I TRAVELS ( Marina Ponocevnaia and Aharoni Zisling ) and our fantastic TOUR OPERATORS Riham and Nihal !
KARNAK temple was imposing to say the least ; the avenue of the Sphinxes , the MASSIVE COLUMNS AND PILLARS of the Hypostyle… the lake .. every place we looked we were overawed !
LUXOR temple had a very impressive PYLON with many statues of RAMSES II.. a shrine for Alexander etc
A NOTE ON SOUND AND LIGHT SHOW:
Many of us were disappointed with the show only because we went with very high expectations!
If you go with lower expectations it’s worth it!
It’s not spectacular but very nice indeed ;
Also, we were all quite tired after a very busy day!

One of the highlights of visiting temples. Karnak is huge and jaw dropping. Luxor is equally magnificent. Don’t, don’t, don’t miss this two!! It’s a must!
