Although the Vatican has a lot to see and experience this tour was the longest of my life. There was simply no way out. Once you are inside there is no way out but to complete the tour. Everything is beautiful but just know what you are committing too.

This tour is basically a reselling scam. I booked online at Viator and had to pay 2.5× what the value of the tour was on the official website, where they were "sold out", just to make sure we didn't have to queue in the line with an older person in our party. The office we went into just involved an annoyed guy taking us to the official desk where the real official tour started. We had to pay more than double for him to walk 100m with us! The tour itself was good but again didn't include Sistine Chapel like promised, the guide just left us after the museum claiming that guides can't go to the chapel. But when we went there, several other guides were there with their groups. The tour also didn't include St Peters, so you then have to queue for that separately. Overall a scam, left a sour taste.

Bought a guided tour and turned up to find that they’d made a mistake and there was no guide available for us. Ended up with just an entry ticket, and a minimal refund that still meant we paid 3 times the normal entry fee.
Steer clear!

We picked the Fast track tour Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable, pointed out all the important pieces to be seen in a short time. At the end of the tour we were able to visit St Peter’s Basilica too without queuing. Well worth it.
