We opted for this pricier private tour because our age and condition make bus travel miserably uncomfortable, and because Chichen Itza has been a must-do destination for at least one of us for decades, and so we wanted to get maximum information. We also wanted to get all the time we needed to really see the site. Oscar was great--answered all of our questions, of which there were many, kept an eye on our comfort level and was fun to be with. We spent almost 3 hours at Chichen Itza, then enjoyed a lunch break in Vallidolid (about which we knew nothing, but of which we are now fans) where we ate in an atmospheric and excellent restaurant, and ended with a swim in beautiful cenote. The last item was supposed to be a different cenote, small but open to the sun, but when we arrived, the parking lot was packed with Sunday visitors and Oscar was immediately able to offer us our choice of two other cenotes. We loved the place he took us to, and we had it pretty much to ourselves. The car was very comfortable, and Oscar's knowledge base is impressively vast. We learned a lot and enjoyed every minute. From pick-up to drop-off, we were with Oscar for 11 hours. I would highly recommend this adventure to anyone with real interest in Mayan civilization and the life of the people of the Yucatan and the "Mayan Riviera".

Myself and my best friend booked a private tour with Oscar to see Chichen Itza and then a visit to a Cenote and the town of Valladolid. Oscar is warm, funny and incredibly knowledgeable about Mayan history. We learned so much on our tour and had so many laughs that our sides hurt.

Oscar also brought us a few ice cold beers and snacks, and for we stopped for some fabulous chicken ribs and salad for lunch which was out of this world.

The cenote we visited in Oxman was the most beautiful place I’ve ever been and Oscar explained about the history and took the time out to point out the birds and wildlife. He thought us to snorkel and had everything we needed including umbrellas for when it rained.

Oscar also took some fantastic photos of us and sent them to us afterwards. He is a brilliant tour guide.

The day trip was the highlight of our time in Mexico and I couldn’t recommend Oscar highly enough.
