We will start off the day in an organic Tortilleria and watch the whole process of making tortillas from scratch, learn about the story of the nixtamalization process, and how deeply maiz is embedded in the Mexican culture. We will continue on a walking tour through the charming Condesa and Roma neighborhoods, discover and taste a wide variety of authentic regional tacos from across Mexico, and learn about their history. We will also explore a local market where you will learn about some of the staple ingredients used in Mexican cuisine.
There is no better way to wash down tacos with a delicious agua fresca or a cold beer. We will finish with amazing Mexican coffee and artisanal chocolate.
Other things to note:
The tour is very dynamic, we can mix and change attractions as the tour goes on. I can also accommodate the experience for different dietary restrictions.

Amazing tour.
Daniel was very knowledgable, enthusiastic and laid back which suited us. The food was fantastic.
Added bonus that the group of people on the tour were friendly and a great laugh.

Great taco tour, Avidan is very knowledgeable about not only tacos, but so many other topics as well. It feels like you're walking around with a friend. Very accommodating for vegetarians and carnivores.

I have to admit, for moment a questioned a "taco tour" --- how different would it be from just eating street food on our own? WELL - we had such a GREAT DAY WITH YOU and had foods that we would not normally have had the experience to try not to mention the fact that we shared our experience with three other really fun people with whom we ended up spending the rest of the day. It truly felt like we were out on the town with an old friend. Delicious foods -- and history. When I bring my family back to MCX we will sign up again! Thank you!

Wonderful exposure to the local taco scene in the Roma Norte and Condesa area. Daniel our guide did an outstanding job of explaining the variety of tacos we ate. Simply delicious! He also provided highlights of the neighborhoods we visited. Bravo!

This was the perfect event to do with friends! Not only do you get to eat and experience amazing local products, but you also get to walk around beautiful neighborhoods in Mexico City and learn more about the culture. My whole bachelorette party group had a wonderful time, and by the end, we truly felt like we had a friend in Mexico City! He also went above and beyond by sending additional recommendations for the rest of our vacation.
Avidan and Daniel are great at communicating in advance, they work around any dietary restrictions, and the food is delicious. My whole group highly recommends this experience.

Highly recommend!! The host is super friendly, and has a great connection with the locals. You learn so much and see so many unique pieces of the city and its food you wouldn't see without the tour. Walking through the market, seeing the tortillaria, and enjoying the different types of tacos was a really memorable experience! It's also affordable, vig CASH to tip. Still kicking myself, but duh no venmo.

Had an absolute blast on my tour with Taco Mensch. Learned so many gems of knowledge about the food, culture and history of both Mexico City and Mexico in general. Was so convenient and fun to be shown around to the best places, and not have to spend hours and days searching while not knowing.
Avidan is an amazing tour guide. He not only provided the paid for tour, but went above and beyond - taking some extra time afterwards to recommend some shops, areas of the city, restaurants and bars that he knew I would personally enjoy, and all were spot on.
This is 1000% a 10 out of 10 experience.

If there's one tour to do in Mexico City, it's this one. Avidan was an amazing host and an expert on all food but particularly tacos. He uses engaging stories to explore the history of tacos in Mexico City and gave us hands on experience into the process of making a taco (from milling the corn to topping it with salsas). A genuine person who is passionate and cares about his guests - this is not to be missed if you're in CDMX.

Ok, so here's a little secret: going on the Taco Mensch experience with Avidan is not like going on a tour with a guide, but more like going for a stroll with your new best friend who happens to be not only an expert on tacos and where to find find the best ones, but also on anything that relates in some way or other to Mexico City or food. Avidan is extremely well-travelled and has lots of different work experience in the food and hospitality industry, which clearly transpires in this tour. Avidan sincerely cares for his guests as well as the businesses and food stalls he works with; he is not only super knowledgeable and interesting, but also genuinely interested, which makes all the difference! We had a fantastic time--the 3 hours flew by trying so many unique and delicious bites--and Avidan was also fantastic at facilitating a great group spirit whenever we sat down. Even though we were plenty full by the end of it, we were a bit sad the tour was over and time had come to say goodbye to our newfound friends. Don't hesitate to book this experience if you're remotely interested in tacos or Mexican cuisine in general. We wouldn't have found most of these places by ourselves (and definitely wouldn't have had all of their background stories); plus, Avidan kindly left us with a list of recommendations for when we get hungry again. We loved every second of it!
