Really informative and personal. We are a couple, one from Belfast and one from England so we have different backgrounds but both learnt a lot and came away with a greater understanding of what happened on Bloody Sunday and the repercussions for the community and families who lost people. John was amazing, gave us lots of time and answered all our questions! Very affecting, would highly recommend

This sounds like a strange thing to say, but that fact that our tour guide had a brother killed on Bloody Sunday lended itself to making the tour more REAL and PERSONAL. Both of my parents were born and raised in Ireland and so I knew about these events, but this tour was extremely informative and really brought the situation to LIFE. I now feel personally vested in this story and will be keeping tabs on the news of the upcoming trial.

We booked this tour hoping to learn more in-depth history of the civil rights movement in Derry. We got so much more than that. We went on the tour after having walked through the Museum of Free Derry exhibit. This exhibit includes personal belongings from the 13 killed in the Bloody Sunday Massacre, and includes information about the families of those murdered and their fight for justice.

Unbeknownst to us, the tour guide for this walking tour is one of those very family members. John walked us through the Bloody Sunday Massacre in great detail, and taught us so much about the civil rights movement, the path to peace, and the tireless work the families of those killed have done to seek justice and prove the innocence of the 13 murdered that day. This tour is an absolute must. Don’t miss it. This experience will stick with me long after my trip ends.
