We visit the less touristy hoods around the Jean-Market on our food tour. From a single mom-no-pop shop we learn about our Latino community and sit down at a Salvadoran neighbourhood joint where locals go. We learn about the different communities that make up the area and pop into Little Italy for an iconic bakery when open.
The Jean-Talon market is the largest of its kind in the country. We try goat cheeses that are so farm to table they remind us of that scene from Portlandia. We visit a spice den, point out other great vendors, try some of the best charcuteries in the province as well as a few surprises like a forager and more depending on the season! You’ll want to go back to the market after the tour.
In Little Italy we explore the streets and area, sip third wave joe and learn about our progressive coffee scene. We head to a bean to bar award winning chocolate “factory” that will showcase some of the best stuff Montréal has to offer, period.

It was the best food walking tour we have taken. Marie our tour guide was amazing. She explained what we were eating at each stop. Would definitely recommend this tour.

I highly recommend this tour. Our guide Jeff was fantastic. His love for his city is obvious and he really wants everyone to experience all of Montreal, not just downtown and Old Montreal. The food we sampled was varied and delicious; from charcuterie meats to Salvadorian pupusas and pickled fiddlehead. Thanks Jeff!

The food tour was such an amazing experience. From the pupusa's, to a visit at Jean Talon Market, and the chocolates. Every bite was delicious and Jeff's knowledge of the city's history made the tour so memorable. It's hard to pick what food I loved the best, but I enjoyed every bite and every new piece of information about Montreal.

The guide was wonderful and we enjoyed learning about the various cultures and history. However there wasn’t much quantity of food and we were disappointed with the small amounts compared to other food tours we’ve done for the same price.

Very fun non touristy tour! Danny was a wonderful guide who shared stories about some amazing local women entrepreneurs. Made the food even more delicious! Just wish we had done this on our first day instead of our last so we could have visited all the recommended stops.

We had an awesome time with Dan our guide. Dan was super friendly knowledgeable, a strong sense of humor. We enjoyed our day with him extremely. We had great little tastings and even ate a Salvadoran dish that we had never had before. It’s a must.
