We will begin our experience early in the morning by meeting at "Porta Carini" entrance door to one of the most famous markets in the city, the Cape. We will enter the market alleys, full of merchandise, and here we will buy everything needed to make the menu you choose together. Among the stalls full of goods, between colors and voices you will have the impression of being in one of the souks of any Muslim city. Visiting a market in Palermo is a multicultural experience, they fully express the multifaceted and cosmopolitan culture of the Palermo area. After our purchases, we will head towards my house, which is just a few minutes from Piazza Politeama. Here our experience will continue with the preparation of the dishes. Under my supervision, my kitchen will become the setting for your culinary creations.

This was a wonderful excursion! A highlight of our stay in Palermo and all of Sicily. Marco was a fantastic host, chef, cooking instructor and all around person! The food was delicious, and shopping in the market for the ingredients was fun. Marco is very personable and engaging. Just remember: "Don't cut your pasta!" Apparently, that is a crime! So much fun. Can't recommend enough, even if you don't love cooking. You do love eating, don't you?

We just finished our cooking experience with Marco. There were nine in our group, including 5 kids ages 9 - 16 with various severe food allergies. Marco accommodated their allergies as well as their picky tastes with grace, patience, and good humor. He also encouraged them to participate in every part of the cooking process. We made arancine, pasta alla Bolognese (we know it's not Sicilian, but again: picky kids), and cannoli. Everyone agreed the meal was the best we've had so far and this is our 10th day in Sicily.
We came away from the experience with smiling faces, full bellies, and a bunch of great memories. What more can you ask for? Highly recommended.

Marco was wonderful so welcoming he made the whole experience memorable I would highly recommend this to anyone the time lasted so quickly I would say it was one of the best days in Sicily if I was staying longer I would do it again as he changes the menu to suit the guests each day so it’s a unique experience for all

We cannot recommend this experience more! Marco is one of the most friendly and hilarious people we have met on our trip and the food we cooked was so delicious! He welcomes you into his home to prepare the dishes and made it a really fun, interactive afternoon. He changes the dishes each day depending on what the guests want and produce available, so we’ll definitely do this again next time we’re in Palermo! Thank you so much for your hospitality Marco!

If you can’t book in a class with Marco for your trip, change your trip dates. One of the highlights so far for us.
Marc is fun, engaging and very knowledgeable, with tips and tricks for people at all skills levels. A great way to learn about local food and have a great time.
Definitely one of the best experiences we’ve had in Europe.
Would come back again!

This was the best experience we had on our Sicily trip! Not only did we get to have fun together cooking, but we got to learn a little history of the recipes we made, and the food we made was the best we had on our 2 week trip through Sicily. We started at the market and instead of just walking through blindly, you get to engage with the sellers while you work to find ingredients for the recipes you decide on. After that insightful experience, you go back and feel like you are hanging out with an old friend at their house. You all make the recipes from start to finish and then gather around the table for an amazing lunch. The recipes that Marco directed the group to make tasted phenomenal. If Marco opened a restaurant I would go daily. I cannot recommend this experience enough.

Marco’s cooking class was the best thing we did while in Italy. We learned so much from Marco and the meals we made were unbelievably good! Not to mention we met a lot of great people and Marco was very welcoming in his home. Would 100% do that again when we return!!!
