2 Day - Short Inca trail to Machu Picchu - Private Services

The 6 day trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu has been very enriching. Our tour guide, Andrés Noriega has made this trip memorable guiding us through Inca Trails (11.5 KM) trekking, and visit to the excavation site. He took us back in time of INCA civilization, and explained the traditions, customs, history in a detailed manner. Mr. Andres has great knowledge on Peru and a ton of patience answering questions for our boys and girls. We would also thank van drivers, Washington Quispe and Richard Quijhua for being gentle and bringing us safe to the hotel everyday evening.

Special thanks goes to Valencia Travels for planning and executing this trip.

We will certainly recommend Valencia Travels if anyone planning to visit Peru.

We had an absolute fantastic 2-day Inka trail experience with our guide Ruben. Our guide knew the "little" secrets (where to best stop, for what to watch out, where to be when etc.) which made this trip memorable and unique. Ruben took care of us at all times (providing us with the necessary information what to bring etc., helped us to feel safe at all times), was always ahead of time, prepared and had a deep knowledge about the history of the area / culture . Overall, everything was very-well planned in advance (hotel, entry tickets, park tickets, train tickets, bus tickets etc.) which made the trip really enjoyable.

Frank (our tour guide) is the main reason I’m giving this review 5 stars. He was amazing in taking us around and educating us on the history behind Machu Picchu. He was also super patient on the hike itself and encouraging as I struggled through parts. Overall, I can see his passion as a tour guide and we had a great time solely because of him. I highly recommend asking for Frank if you do the Inca Trail!

Valencia Travel as a tour agency had a few areas of improvement that I’d watch out for when booking with them. In particular,
- Valencia was not responsive 12-48 hours before our trek. Granted the tour started on a Monday, it was still a pain to not have information about how or when the guide was going to contact us. This is not Frank’s fault at all and solely the fault of the management office. Once we met up with Frank, everything was smooth sailing so again, I am very grateful for Frank.
- There were a couple of times the tour agent / Mgmt office thought they sent an email or message but they did not which was slightly unprofessional.
- There were things that the tour agency promised us but then told us couldn’t happen later on. For example, sending an extra bag to our Aguas Caliente hotel while we were doing our hike. This was frustrating and only Frank (our tour guide) was able to help sort it out.
- Overall, I would emphasize being extra communicative and getting things clarified and confirmed in writing if you’re going to book with Valencia.

This was one of the best tours I’ve been on. Our group had the great pleasure of having Frank guide us on the hike and around Machu Picchu. Everything was perfect and logistics were seamless. We were fortunate to have great weather on both days and made sure we got to each spot with enough time to rest and take pictures. Frank is extremely knowledgeable about the Incan culture and history. I highly recommend this tour and be sure to ask for Frank!

If I could give Valencia Travel 10 out of 10 stars I would. They absolutely made our entire trip to Peru magical. We originally booked our trip to Machu Picchu through our hotel, and the woman that we were dealing with completely forgot to book us, and we were stuck without a ticket to Machu Picchu. It was an absolute nightmare to think we would come to Peru, without being able to see Machu Picchu.

But Maria literally saved our trip! Valencia is the real deal! They are truly a professional travel agency, and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. If you are going to book a excursion to Machu Picchu, use Valencia! We met Maria at their offices in Cuzco, and they literally took care of everything for us, every single detail!

Now I would like to share our experience with our tour guide, Claudio. You couldn’t find a more helpful, sweeter, and a more amazing guide on a hike through the Inca Trail, and our two day tour of Machu Picchu than Claudio. He is the absolute best! He literally took care of us, the entire two days and he did it with grace, patience, and true professionalism. His knowledge is unbelievable. He comes from Incan family. His passion and knowledge of the history made the trip so much better and educational for us. We absolutely love Claudio! He is the best and we were sad to say goodbye to him. We are so grateful for him! What a great man. Our entire experience was magical, and it was all because of Valencia Travel. Thank you guys! We couldn’t recommend you highly enough!

INCREDIBLE! I stumbled across Valencia travel when planning my Peru trip and am so thankful I did! The booking process was so easy. I had a 20 min phone conversation with one of their agents and then was able to do the rest via email which made the process simple. The agent was very informative, responsive, and catered to everything I asked to make me trip tailored to me. The payments were made easy over a secure online portal which allowed me to be very confident.

Then, my actual tour experience was beyond what I ever imagined. We met with our guide, Washington the night before to go over everything. He met us directly at our Cusco hotel and thoroughly explained what we should expect and how we should be prepared for the next morning. Throughout the entire trip everything was extremely organized. From the pick up times, the bus and train and private transfers, the process of entering the Inca Trail, getting to and from Machu Picchu. Everything was so smooth and we didn’t have to worry about a thing! Our accommodations at each step exceeded my expectations! Our guide also seemed to know the exactly perfect time to do everything such that we missed the long times two and from Machu Picchu and the like.

I also want to leave a special note for Washington, our guide. I left this trip feeling like I really made a new friend here in Peru. To start, Washington was SOOOOO passionate and knowledgeable, I cannot believe the amount I learned about Peru’s very rich history. I could truly tell that Washington enjoyed talking about and sharing his knowledge of the Incas and Peru. Washington was an excellent and clearly experienced hiker. My travel companion has some trouble with alt sickness on the Inca Trail and Washington did a great job showing patience and getting him through it. In Aguas Calientes it was clear that Washington knew everyone and was well liked. He also had excellent recommendations for places to eat and things to see in Aguas Calientes and Cusco. We enjoyed getting to know and spending time Washington so much we ended up booking the Rainbow Mountain tour through Valencia travel for the following day and specifically requested Washington as our guide (I will write another review about that amazing experience as well).

All in all, bettering Washington and Valencia travel our time in Peru and trip to Machu Picchu was made 1000000x better and far exceeded all of my expectations.

Everything was very well managed. Rene was our guide and he took us the entire time with magnificent peace and professionalism.
The patience and special care for us was very loving.
The transportation and food were also top notch.

Rene was the best guide we’ ve ever imagine! We really enjoy the experience, it was my birthday and he did everything to make me feel a wonderful day and experience. I am very grateful we didn’t expect such and amazing trip, it was really really awesome.
He was really kind, caring about us every minute.

Carla was amazing organizing everything also, and goyo driving in an excellent way.
Cosme also make a ceremony for us and we are so grateful.

The experience was incredible, the entire tour was beautiful, from the moment they picked us up until they brought us back to the hotel in Cusco I felt very cared for. Our guide was Rene, the truth is that I am very grateful to him for having made these days a magical and unforgettable experience. He was super attentive to everything, preparing every detail, he gave us a lot of peace and tranquility and gave us a lot of knowledge. He lovingly answered each of our questions.
The road was beautiful, much better than I imagined, the arrival at Machu Picchu was also very exciting.
