Had an amazing hike up to the Refuge of the 100. My guide Michel (Mich) was outstanding and we had a tremendous day together! Michel is an experienced mountaineer and like the other guide with Mexico Travesias (Carlos), by the end of the day, I not only had an unforgettable experience but spent the day with a good friend. Although he speaks perfect English, le let me practice all day in my low-intermediate level Spanish, which was great. This company is the real deal, sensible and they were genuinely concerned about safety issues in the Alpine zone. This is a serious hike, I am pretty fit for 57 years old and it was a challenge. Certainly not walk to see the pretty volcano. Bring a hat, gloves sweater, and a rain jacket. Be prepared for a sudden and unpredictable change in weather - typical when you are at an altitude higher than the summit of Mt. Ranier. Don't even think of trying this in your running shoes or other street shoes. Michel checked in with me regularly about how I was doing with the altitude, which can affect anyone regardless of fitness level. Even in the clouds, this was a tremendous experience and I got many times my money's worth. I look forward to my next trip to Mexico and will certainly book another trip with Mexico Travesias.

Wonderful trip, efficiently managed. We had fabulous views along the entire 10K hike of either or both volcanoes. The trail was generally quite easy and manageable for our children.
Our guide Galileo was great. Spoke very good English, tirelessly answered our many questions, and explained the history, flora, and fauna of the area. He was very patient and kind with our youngest child. When she was scared about a steep descent, he took her by the hand down the rocks.

Great hike with a great guide! Thanks Jorge! The views are amazing and the hike is worth it.
Maybe it would’ve been easier with some crampons on the snow but we managed.

When the sky is clear and the weather good the landscape is wonderful at the Izta-Popo National Park.
Bringing back your trash from the mountain, it is something smart that you can do.

By chance I was the only one booked on the tour for the day (amazingly they still went ahead with it 😍). My guide was super lovely!

The hike was tough due to the altitude and required many stops along the way. The views were amazing 😁
