It was well organised from meeting rep at Sorrento rail station onwards.
Gino the guide was excellent throughout, informative and considerate to all of the party.
The earpieces weren’t the best though, whether it was interference or just sound quality, as we neared the end of the tour, we couldn’t hear properly unless we were only a few feet away.

The guide did try his best and was nice. But, too many people on the 1 tour and you only get a tour of about 10% of the city. The fast track tickets are a must, the guide sorted that for everyone and under 18s need ID. You must be quick on your feet and keep up with the guide or you don't see what he's talking about or pointing at. Sometimes the radio actually went out of range because the group was that big and if you end up at the back the signal starts to go. No stops for a rest. It's a heat trap, take plenty of water. Be warned, at the end of the tour, you are left to find your own way back to sorrento or you can stay and explore more if you wish.
Pompeii is amazing and a must do on your bucket list.

Other reviews I saw before were just flowery and missing key info so hopefully this helps in making your decision:
Pros:
- Guide claimed to be a trained archeologist and provided good insights during the 2 hour tour
- the logistics were mostly clearly explained
Cons:
- there is a half hour wait for the train after the time you are supposed to meet. Most of it in the non air conditioned coaches with no air and can get hot while waiting. Bring a hand fan
- train is not very comfortable compared to most western countries. There are better trains locally but not the one this operator picks. The price of the ticket is 2.50 Euros one way compared to what they charge
- the tour is packed 30+ people - uncomfortable baby monitors are given as headphones and because of the cramped places mostly you lose transmission if you are not cramping around the guide
- at the end of the tour she just said good bye and collected tips - no details about return train timings etc - so look up on your own so as to not be stuck for 45 mins waiting for the next train
Highly recommend an ac bus if you don’t deal with hot slow passenger trains well.

A lot of hanging around d, the guide had poor English and very hard to understand what he was talking about.
This is my second visit and I felt he missed alot out. I also got fed up with hearing how much damage was caused by us in the second world war.
I wonder what the Germans would have done if they won

Gino was just brilliant, entertaining and informative the tour was so interesting. He went at just the right pace and I highly recommend.
