It's a very unique city, that was a flourish place for many people lived their and worked to get out phosphates and export it abroad.
This city was founded by an English engineer called Mr Andy in the year 1902 and was deserted by the year 1988.
visitors can see ,the villa where Mr Andy lived and the houses ,schools, markets and the mosques where they used to use in that time.

I was in Quseir for work and decided to go on unplanned tour to the Ghosts Village in Safaga. i contacted Mr Mahmoud, a decent driver who facilitated my transport during the whole trip. We hit the road not knowing if we can reach the the place. Fortunately, we met a very professional local guide, Fahad, who led us to the village and up the mountains. He showed us the mining tunnels which was thrilling and prepared us a very local type of coffee which he made from A 2 Z . Fahad is very quiet and proud local bedouin. He is very open minded and informative. He promised me a trip to the spectacular Hamata and Berenice. I highly recommend both of them Mr Mahmoud for Transportation and Fahad for local trips and Safari.
