Because the tour was given by family member who lives in (& no doubt loves) the Palazzo the information was pertinent, personal, interesting and given with wit and flair.

Learn about the fascinating history of this palace. Family members still reside there (six total) and your tour will be guided by one of them! The palace is built on the city wall which explains the non-linear aspect to the rooms and it is also built around a tower existing from the city’s original 21 used for defense. Ceiling designs transform from beautiful woodwork to vaulted murals. In one room (which is the former outside of the tower) you can view how the change took place. Wall coverings, floor design, furniture, and decorations are dated back to the original residents. However, because there are current family members residing there several modern additions are also seen - medals, trophies, photos, and memorbilla. It is refreshing to see a piece of history that is preserved and open for tours that is also serving the role of family home.

Historic house built and lived on one of the towers of the wall of Palermo Bay when it was a great port of Mar. The furniture and decoration is of great beauty. The visit commented by one of the sons of the Family is super didactic and illustrates the intervention of Sicily in the creation of present-day Italy by Garibaldi.

The tour was particularly interesting because of the commentary by a member of the aristocratic family that had lived in the palace for centuries.

Wonderful place full of history. Without a doubt, visiting the Palazzo is one of the best activities you can do in Palermo. The visit is very enjoyable, since the guide is one of the children of the family that lives there. A very kind and fun boy. A very charming place, in the historic center. Highly recommended.

The visit exceeded expectations. Each room was different, full of details and beautiful. A dive into different historical eras. We would have gladly stayed longer to look at everything even better.
