The uniqueness of our concert lies in the perfect combination of all that is characteristic for the Italian music: operatic arias from the most famous Italian operas like "La Traviata", "Turandot" or "Rigoletto", Neapolitan songs and "Four Seasons" of Vivaldi.

The concert programme is presented by tenor and soprano soloists accompanied by grand piano.

From Monday to Saturday our concerts are held in magnificent Waldesian Church (via IV Novembre 107, Rome) with outstanding acoustics. The church is situated in a historical building in the centre of Rome, only 100 metres walk from Piazza Venezia and 300 metres walk from Pantheon.

On Sundays our concerts take place at Methodist Church (via Firenze 38, Rome). A warm space of the Methodist Church and a unique acoustic create an intimate atmosphere of the concerts. Thanks to the small space of the concert hall guest are only a foot away from the musicians, which feels like a private concert.

I had originally heard about the Opera da Camera di Roma based upon a promotional flier from my hotel during a previous visit, which pointed me to their website and further information. While the flier had only highlighted weekday night and Sunday concerts, the website also mentioned Saturday concert options.

Sure enough, I recently came back to Rome on a Saturday and was going to catch up with a friend then. On our way to dinner, we stopped right outside the Waldesian church (near Galleria Colonna) where the concerts were to take place, saw the doors were open then, and inquired within. We were able to buy our tickets there and caught the concert.

The format was just as simple as the title suggests. You only had three performers: a soprano, a tenor, and the pianist on a baby grand piano. The soprano and tenor would take turns, introducing the name of piece and its composer first, then perform it while accompanied by piano. At times, the pianist would also introduce and then perform a piece solo. Towards the end, the two singers performed duets together with the piano. There were no microphones, speakers or any other audio equipment and there didn't need to be. The acoustics of the stone church were enough and amplified each voice, giving you great sound. If you knew the songs, you could appreciate hearing them in more stripped down arrangements than the orchestral arrangements you might have heard in a recording or live. And if it was your first time, you were still in for a treat.

By the time we reached the fourth or fifth piece, my friend turned to me and said she had goosebumps from the performance. I honestly lost count myself as well as shed a few tears during one piece. It was amazing.

One great part about the flier, which they had more of at the concert venue, was that you could find and follow along with the songs listed on the program. While the order may have been switched, the performers sang or played just about every song listed there, with one or two substitutions. There was no intermission that evening, which ended up speeding up the concert somewhat (about 60 minutes, versus the 80 listed). However, this was probably a good thing. It had gotten to about 90 degrees that day, and apart from the heat in the church, you felt for the performers performing in their evening dresses and tailored suit. It was well worth the price of admission.

Quick notes:

- Verify what time your concert is, either by e-mail, phone, or in person. Part of the confusion with going to the concert came on their website, which listed concerts both at 7:00pm and 7:30pm that evening. Was not sure if this was due to a last minute change by the performers due to warm weather or a technical issue with the website, so made a point to show up there early and ask directly. Regardless, my friend and I showed up about 6pm, verified that the performance would begin at 7pm, not 7:30pm, and had time to catch drinks before coming back to the concert. However, several people showed up about halfway into the performance not knowing this (!).

- If you buy your tickets online, you can purchase them with credit card, but if you buy them onsite, it is cash only.

One of the worst shows I’ve ever seen. The accompanist was 45 mins late, unprofessionally dressed and just flat out sloppy. The tenor and soprano were mid performers. They also were not professionally dressed. I mean it’s an opera concert you should dress as of your performing an actual opera. Don’t waste your money! I want a full refund!! The show was only 27 mins long and it’s advertised as 80mins with an intermission and a drink. The drink was a version of their Sunny D juice.

The tenor and soprano are excellent singers esp the soprano hitting the high notes. The tenor had the added job as MC and had to introduce each song or piece. This must have added a little pressure on him as he also had to sing. I wish the organisers could have done justice to the performance by either expanding the number of singers and instruments to make this a truly exceptional experience. The pianist was technically good but the introduction to pieces being played was not clear. I thought the piano needs some tuning. Overall given the price it was a good experience.

The concert never happened. It was a total scam. We arrived at the place half an hour earlier, at the exact location and the exact church and there was NO CONCERT. There was an end-of-the-school year recital with local families.
We checked and double checked the info on the tickets and the place a time were correct. I expect and demand to get my $140 refund!!!
If the concert was moved to another location I was NEVER contacted. Please refund d my money

Beautiful performance by a tenor, soprano and pianist. Think it was about 10 songs. They did an excellent job. Some songs are just piano. Only thing i would ask is to change photo advertised as leads to false advertising. It is not a big group that is performing as picture appears. It is 1 soprano, 1 tenor, and 1 pianist. I still loved every second of performance.

The opera was amazing. The tenor, soprano and pianist were all amazingly talented. The venue was very intimate which made it a great experience. The event had an intermission with a refreshing drink and the host was very friendly. It is also located in a very central part of Rome, perfect for a show before or after dinner. Honestly, I couldn’t ask for anything more. I’ve never been to a “big” opera show, but I think the intimacy of this show made me very happy with my choice. Also you can’t beat the price. I very highly reccomend this unforgettable experience if you are visiting Rome!

The location was easy to find on a major road out of Rome with good access via the bus routes. The concert was value for money and the performers were excellent.

Excellent. Very enjoyable show in a small cozy church. Everyone seemed to be happy with the performance. Recommended for a quiet evening after a busy day sightseeing in Rome.
