This was our first time taking a small group tour and it was everything we expected and then some. Our tour guide, Cathal, took great care of our group. The schedule had some flexibility. If we wanted to make an extra stop or leave a bit later from an attraction or town, we could. It felt more like a family vacation than a tour. We enjoyed learning the Irish sport of hurling on Inch Beach one morning. At each town Cathal gave us helpful recommendations for good places to eat and grab a pint as well as nearby pubs with live music. By the end of our trip we not only have great memories, we have some new friends.

We did a 7 day guided trip around Ireland. The communication and information provided as we were planning the trip was excellent and only topped by the service provided by our guide James. He was extremely punctual and very knowledgeable about the sites we visited and their historical relevance. What stood out the most was how James quickly got to know our group and what we would enjoy. He used this to then make suggestions and tweaks to the itinerary so we could maximize the enjoyment we got from our trip. This was definitely the best trip we have ever done, and James was a huge factor in helping us create memories we will have as a family forever.

We just finished our seven day tour of Ireland and had an amazing time. Overland Ireland was great to work with and did an excellent job suggesting activities for our itinerary. Overland kept us informed throughout the entire process leading up to the trip. We have traveled to other places in Europe, but this trip was our favorite and a lot of it was due to our tour guide, James. He was friendly, personable and extremely knowledgable about the history of Ireland and knew a ton about each stop along the way. James took us safely to each activity with percise timing and even offered some additional sight seeing recommendations tailored to our family once he got to know us. His ability to navagate the narrow roads of Ireland to get us to perfect group photo opportunities was especially impressive. Whether it was booking reservations for us at local favorite restaurant or recommending pubs with great local music, James definitely played a large part in making our trip memorable.

This was a trip of a lifetime! Overland was easy to work with and they customized a trip for our family of 12 that included 4 children. James, our guide, made everything magical! I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. He is very knowledgeable and took us off the beaten path to show us the most beautiful and authentic parts of Ireland. He customized our trip even more as he got to know us as we went along. Every night he had dinner plans for us, and made sure we knew where the best music and local spots were. He made the trip better and exceeded everyone’s expectations. When we come back, we will be looking for James. Thank you, Overland!

The tour was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Overland helped customize our trip for what we wanted to do, and it was so awesome seeing all parts of the country we couldn’t have done alone. Honestly though, what made it the best experience was having our tour guide, James. He was super personable, great with the kids, and a wealth of knowledge. We were lucky to have him and would recommend him to anyone looking to go on a tour of Ireland.

Our 7 day Overland Ireland tour just finished up back in Dublin. It met all our expectations to experience the southern part of Ireland and the varied landscape and associated history. What attributed to that was our guide, Pat O Mara, who was naturally focused on the needs and comfort of the group, was knowledgeable and had a way of sharing that was both creative and flexible to the interests of the group.
We travelled with a group of friendly and compatible people and quickly developed a lovely camaraderie of friendship that lent itself to humor and lite heartedness. We could not have desired for more!

we were the 7 day tour starting in Dublin... our driver OWEN was exceptiona w/o him i would not have enjoyed the tour as much..he was so creative and knowledgeable about history and current events.and knew the raods.. i have never taken a tour .i always do my own bookings and travel.. i didnt want to drive in ireland,, my only complaint we stopped at too many tourist traps.. ..

The Overland Emerald Tour was great. EOIN, the tour guide, made it very special with all his expertise. Each day he gave such interesting information about the culture, history, old myths, and the stories were all enjoyable (along with the singing!). The scenery was outstanding.
He answered all our many questions so thoroughly. He was an excellent driver. The van had a smooth ride, seats might be a bit skimpy for some folks, but I think their vans must vary. There was trouble with the door opening at times. We loved all the stops. All the other guides were superb as well. The tasting in Galway was such a nice touch. Hotels were good and the meals gave a good start for each day. What a memorable week!!

Our Emerald Explorer Overland tour was fabulous. Our guide, EOIN, was terrific. We felt safe the entire trip. Eoin’s driving skills were outstanding. We loved hearing him talk about the historical background of all the sights. We also love that he shared stories. The van size felt just right, the seats comfortable with large windows. The city, farms, brewery, and castle guides were all so very informative. We were happy with the accommodations. All beds were super comfortable, and breakfasts were tasty and substantial. The week schedule had a nice balance. We highly recommend this tour.

Overall hood tour, beautiful scenery, hotels were all very good with a good breakfast. Sheep dog trials were the best!!lots of gree time in the evenings. Fun time with great people.
