The tour guide and driver picked us up at your hotel - fantastic and so easy for my wife and I! Chapultepec Castle looks like it was teleported from Europe, you’ll recognize a bit of Windsor Castle & Versailles.

Our guide filled us with info on the origins of the Mexican people, the many revolutions and great details on Mexican leaders through the years - both good and bad rulers. Castle has beautiful gardens and courtyards, this was the “Mexican White House,” and is furnished with historical furniture and the array of jewels and work done by craftsmen will stun anyone who doesn’t think Mexicans as world-class craftsmen!

This is an aggressive walking tour that takes you through Chapultepec Park, twice the size of Central Park. Don’t visit the Anthropological museum or castle without a guide - you’ll waste too much time trying to figure out what to see! It would take 3 or 4 days to tour and grasp the entire anthropological museum, but the guide packed the most critical and informative aspects into a great tour!

Aztecs, Mayans and every other ancient Mexican civilization is featured - and a couple of tombs on display are massive & beautiful! Go early to the castle because it gets very crowded by noon. This was an entertaining tour because our guide was an encyclopedia of into.

Having a driver allows the drive to focus on info during the drive to the castle, then the driver meets you and the guide at the museum with tickets - that mean in waiting in lines! Spend some time enjoying the Tree of Life “waterfall” - the work done by sculptors both past and present are on display throughout the museum.

You’ll build an appetite during this tour - and that workout can be rewarded with a big, tasty dinner at one of dozens of great restaurants in the Polanco neighborhood - the most beautiful and exclusive n’hood is all of Mexico City.

I’d suggest staying in the Polanco due to its beauty, food, architecture and a true n’hood feel. It feels like one of those old NYC n’hoods from back in the day, with residents easily mixing with tourists as they sit side by side at indoor/outdoor eateries.
