Enjoy close the natural diversity of Rio de Janeiro. Begin your tour at the Botanical Garden (options with and without tickets included) and visit the Sensory Garden, the Brazilwood (tree that gives name to the country), the Turtle Lake and the lake with the giant-water-lily. Walk through the bicentenary imperial palm trees as you go to the orchidarium and bromeliad house.
Then, visit the Vista Chinesa gazebo (on Saturdays and Sundays will be off the route as vehicles are not allowed) and enjoy a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro. In a distance, you can also see Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf. Follow to an adventure at Tijuca National Forest, one of the largest urban forest in the world. Observe the Taunay Waterfall and walk through a simple trail as you learn more about the Atlantic Forest, its flora and fauna. Get back to the vehicle and pass by the famous São Conrado beach to observe the hang gliders and paragliders, before returning to the hotel through a panoramic route.

Good guide. Nice views. Price was ok. Buy your own ticket to botanical garden- $15 vs $28 if purchased through tour. Rem to ask about half off for seniors.

For garden lovers, this is one of the largest plant collections in the world with 9,000 species of native and foreign plants. You will visit the orchid garden, medicinal plants section, carnivorous plants, Japanese garden, Amazon section. As the park is extensive, you can tour it in free golf carts and you can take them at the different stations in the park.

I am a final student of the Tourist Guide course. We had it in Floresta da Tijuca on 05/11/2024 as part of first aid training on the trail, when I made these records. I'm a professional photographer too.

Newton was an excellent guide. It was wonderful going to the waterfalls in the forest and exploring the botanical gardens.

The few locations we were able to see were nice. Unfortunately, the tour became a tour of only the gardens and not the Tijuca forest! The narrator and guide was very nice, but I paid to go see the Tujica forest and the forest was closed. Why did the tour guide not contact the park to see if it was open? It was not raining yet it was closed. Very disappointing and would actually like a refund. I paid to get a walking tour of the forest as opposed to the other tours which required jeeps.

The gardens are magnificent, and so was the forest. The guide (Gabriela) was very nice and acomodating, answering everyone's questions. A great trip that I recomend to everyone who enjoys nature walks, and a bit of history.

Very beautiful botanical garden located in the heart of Rio. It was a very hot day so being among these trees was a bit of a relief. The garden is divided into different parts so that you get a good overview of the differentiation in fauna and flora of Brazil. Minus: you can only pay entrance cash, so bring some coins......
