Take a full 10-hour day trip to Petra and step back in time! We shall start this tour off in the morning with a departure from your selected hotel taking a the drive down the Deseret highway for approximately 3 hours to reach the astonishing site of the rock city of Petra.

At the Visitor Center buy your tickets to Petra and also you can hire a local guide (optional) and explore the majestic site.
Pass the Siq, a narrow gorge where you get the first close views of the colorful sandstone, ending at the beautiful treasury. Walk along the Street of Facades to the Royal Tombs, the theater, and Qasr Al Bint.
After you have visited and seen Petra the driver will be waiting for you at the Visitor Center ready to depart on the way back to Amman or Amman airport.

I knew that going to Petra from Amman and returning that same day would be a long day (about 11 hours round trip, including the Petra tour). I trusted Viator to make it go smoothly, and everything worked out extremely well on this private tour. My driver Anas spoke excellent English and was very personable and a great host on the 3.5 hour drives to and from Petra -- pointing out noteworthy sites along the way, introducing me to Middle Eastern music, food, and culture, and taking various roads so that I could see different parts of Jordan's beautiful landscape. By the end, we were friends. At Petra, my tour guide Omar was outstanding -- incredibly knowledgeable about all aspects of the site's history -- engineering, religion, politics of the time, etc. His English was also excellent, and he took plenty of time to explain what we were seeing as walked unhurriedly through this fascinating place and took many photos. I highly recommend both Anas and Omar and the overall experience arranged by Viator.

Breathtakingly unforgettable. Walking through the almost 4 mile hike was almost a spiritual journey. Pictures in media is just 10% of how it really is in person.

Anas Abu was incredible as a driver and companion during our trip. We had several experiences with him throughout our two weeks in Jordan.
He was extremely dependable, helpful in figuring things out as we do not speak Arabic, and highlighted different points of interest during our various drives.
We highly recommend Anas and will use his services again the next time we visit Jordan, our thanks in making our trip truly memorable!

We had a great experience!!! Mohammad Bardaghawi is the best! He picked us up early in the morning and managed our schedule very well. He also explained us the main information about Jordan and the things we were going to do in our tour. With him we were confident all the time. And in Petra he left us in hands of a great guide that told us the most important features and took some amazing photos!!
