Iceland: Airport Transfers between Keflavik and Reykjavik Hotels

We had a scheduled 6:00 am pickup time to ensure we made our flight, and the company stated to arrive at the pickup spot 20 minutes early to ensure a seat.

We waited for 45 minutes, and the bus never showed up. We paid for a cab to ensure we made our flight.

Their customer service said the bus arrived at 6:27, which is not eligible for a refund. Please be aware if you book this company that their pickup time window is up to 30 minutes.

We bought tickets on the Fly Bus and gave the ticket agent and bus driver our hotel name. They both said they go to our hotel. Imagine our surprise when the bus pulls into a central bus station with NO announcements from the driver as to why we stopped here. We were then told to get off the bus and collect our luggage. We walked thru the small terminal and found more buses outside. After more confusion we figured out the green ticket we had been given meant we were supposed to get on the green bus which eventually got us close to our hotel.
We have never seen such an unhelpful bus service in our lives. I would never use them again.

This was a bus ride from the airport to a central depot. You then grab your luggage and drag it through the depot to the parking lot on the other side of the building. Then you wait for a van to take you to your final destination. Well, sort of. We were dropped off about 2 blocks away from our hotel so we had to drag our luggage through a construction zone and search for our hotel. We had expected to be dropped off in front of the hotel!

From airport to Bus station was easy and RIGHT OUTSIDE the Airport no long walks with your bags.

Will most definitely use again.

Great service. I didn’t realize how far the airport is from Reykjavik, it’s a long way. This shared shuttle bus service takes to the central meeting bus station, where you switch to a van, to go your hotel. The bus terminal has food, restrooms and sporting goods. Make sure you reconfirm your return trip at least 12 hours in advance. The ride back to airport is shared bus shuttle, and does take 1 hr 15 minutes at a minimum to return. Allow for unexpected traffic and airport security delays in figuring pickup time. The airport is far far away.

The most terrible part of the trip from the airport on July 11 was getting dumped off at a bus stop three long blocks from our hotel and having to carry/pull all our luggage up hill to our hotel. The ad for the service said we would be dropped off at our hotel! It was tough for us four, all-over 70 year olds. The driver basically said "tough" and didn't want to talk about it.

I already responded to your customer service email and asked to cancel our return trip to the airport on June 13 and be given a full refund for that service. I have not received any response to that email yet, but expect to. It was an extremely bad experience and you need to be more specific on what is included in the service.

This is a cost effective and efficient way to get from your hotel to KEF, however, the written instructions were unclear. They stated I would be picked up at my hotel but in reality I was scheduled to be picked up at bus stop #6, their nearest pickup point to my hotel. Had I not called in advance to clarify I would have been waiting at my hotel and missed the pickup shuttle. Nowhere in my instructions did it say I would be picked up at bus stop #6.

Don't ever book this bus again, they take it for granted that they are late and when they delay a passenger's flight due to their mistakes, they put the blame on the customer and ignore the customer when they ask for communication

We will never forget getting up well before dawn and dressing for the Icelandic weather (full rain suits, etc), getting out to the assigned pick up point in plenty of time for our 0330 pickup only to be standing there in the weather for nearly 45 minutes with absolutely no sign of our bus. Upon calling the operator, Reykjavic Excursions, I learned their office is closed at that time of day. In order to catch our early flight to Glasgow, we were forced to take a taxi at the additional cost of $78. We are extremely disappointed in this operator and recommend anyone needing airport transfers in Iceland look elsewhere.
