1. Piazza della Signoria
Begin your foodie adventure in Piazza della Signoria, one of the best piazzas in Florence. Widely known as an outdoor art gallery, Piazza della Signoria is home to many sculptures and art vendors. Here, you will be able to spot Palazzo Vecchio, a beautiful palace dating back to the time of the Medici family. You can also spot a copy of Michelangelo’s David here. Your guide will introduce you to the Florence foodie scene, and off you go.

On your first stop, visit Via dei Neri, a Florentine known specifically for its food. The street is lined with dozens of panino shops, all with freshly cured meats and delicious cheeses. During lunch time, this street is filled with hungry travelers and Florentines waiting for a good meal. Stop at a local shop for aperitivo, meaning a quick bite before dinner time. Taste some ribollita, bruschetta and local samples of meats and cheeses. Wash it all down with some delicious vino.
3. Ponte Vecchio
Walk toward the Arno River and see Florence’s most famous and colorful bridge. The Ponte Vecchio centuries ago used to be the hot spot for fishmongers, butchers and the like to barter and sell their goods. Now, you’ll find the bridge lined mainly with jewelers. Cross over the bridge to access to Oltrarno area, a neighborhood more populated with locals than tourists.

A trip to Tuscany is not complete without some fine wine. At a local wine shop, taste delicious pairings of wine, with some local samplings of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. And if you like what you’re tasting, feel free to buy a bottle to share with your family and friends at home.

Fantastic thing to do! Highlight of our trip. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and took us to outstanding off the beaten track restaurants and gave us tips on where to go, what to do. Highly recommend. (And no one is telling me to say this. It’s true!)

Our family and the rest of our tour group had a fabulously fun evening with Marco.

This tour is exactly as described, although I would say the wines are more just served rather than it being a tasting experience.

The stops and food served were all excellent and Marco shared with us the origins and meaning of the foods we were trying. Don’t expect much of a narrative or history lesson about Florence though, this was all about the food. And while the tour didn’t include a gelato stop, he provided us with a couple of recommendations. The one we went to was excellent.

We had a fantastic time on the tour. Our guide Eleanora was absolutely wonderful, as she shared so much information about the wine, the food, and Florence in general. We all felt like we were experiencing the area with a friend, not just with a hired guide.

Waited a bit before the guide showed up without the Tour Guy flag we were looking for. We thought we had the details wrong about meeting location. A bit stressful. Lori was pleasant and a bit knowledgeable. She wasn't local to the area for that long. The walking was easy. The restaurants were nice and we were seated in a separate area so we could converse together. The food in each location was delicious. Not the best to be had in Florence but certainly a nice variety. We saw wonderful buildings along the way.

A group of eight of us waited 1/1/24 under the horse statue in Florence for nearly an hour and no guide showed up to lead the tour. We had no communication with the company before the tour to warn us there was a problem. We’ve had no one from the company contact us since yesterday evening. We’ve had American Express dispute the charge.

Our guide, Theodora, was fantastic. She brought us to several wonderful spots with explanations of the food, culture and sights we were surrounded by. She shared wonderful recommendations for our next few days with us. The food and the wine were delicious. We would do it all over again.

Florence is an amazing place to visit and this tour not only gave us a chance to try local food and wine but also to learn about the city. Theodora our guide was great!! She was so knowledgeable about the city! It was a pleasure to have her guide us! I highly recommend this tour. Ask for Theodora!!

We had three stops and the first two were VERY disappointing with 2 small mediocre pastas at one, and the other had liver pate which was fiair and a verfy disappointing bean soup. Portions tiny. The third stop was great with plenty of food, excellent steak, Vin Santo, a repeat of the bean soup with a larger portion and very good tasting. The guide was pleasant, but gave no information about the food. I would trhy a different company next time.
