Leave the beach crowds behind for a full-day tour to the south coast of Jamaica, where you'll visit the Appleton Estate's rum distillery, and take a cool dip in the clear waters of YS Falls. YS Falls is one of the most natural and beautiful spots you will find in Jamaica. A spectacle, boasting a magnificent seven-tiered cascading waterfall and an expansive wading pool fed by underground springs. A recent addition to YS Falls is a canopy zipline tour which lets you "fly" up to 40 feet above the waterfalls. Our next stop is Appleton Estate, the oldest sugar estate and distillery in Jamaica. This tour provides you with an inside look at the process of making rum, one of Jamaica’s most famous export. At the end of the tour you are given the chance to sample the various liqueur that are produced at the distillery.

We completed two separate tours with Das on different days, the foodie tour and YS Falls, with Black River Safari and Appleton Estates. He was a great tour guide. He provided us the full experience of Jamaican culture and food. He went above and beyond our expectations. We tried a variety of mangos, traditional dishes like curry chicken, curry crab, brown stewed chicken, rice and peas, boiled yam, bread fruit, boiled/fried dumpling and Jamaican desserts. Our visit to YS Falls was delightful. The falls were beautiful and pristine. Remember to bring bug spray because there are a lot of mosquitoes. Our visit to Appleton Estates was full of fun facts, like how fermentation is accomplished, the aging process of rum, the establishment of the estate in 1749, and over 2000 varieties of sugar cane. We completed our tour with a visit to Black River Safari, where Captain Cornell took us down river to meet some of its longtime residents, crocodiles, Victoria, Philip, Tom and Jerry just to name a few. We also interacted with smaller crocodiles in different stages of development. Das took pictures and shared them with us. You will not be disappointed if you reserve a private or group tour with Das. We will definitely book him again when we return to Jamaica.

Super nice and knowledgeable about plenty of topics about the island. We loved hearing his experiences and places that he loved to go and enjoy. Made the experience for us much more enjoyable with his knowledge and willingness to share it. Both the locations were AMAZING!! He made sure we had plenty of time and didn’t feel rushed. I would happily recommend anyone to him and would definitely go on another tour with him again.

Absolutely amazing tour. Highly recommended. YS Falls is a must. Appleton Rum estate even better. BUT... Georgia "Mama G" as our tour guide was brilliant. Picked us up and pointed out all the sights on our long drive over to the South of the Island. Through her we saw more of the real Jamaica than we expected. She made a brilliant day even more amazing. Thank you xx

This was all around an amazing and highly recommended experience. Our group loved touring YS Falls and Appleton, but what really made our day so great was our guide, Das, who was a true professional. Not only did he make us feel totally safe the whole way (even on some windy mountain roads), he was incredibly knowledgeable about Jamaican history, politics, cuisine, culture, and more. The hours driving through the beautiful countryside flew by, and we loved stopping for the Jamaican fruits, chips, and sodas he showed us along the way. Also, getting breakfast patties before heading into the mountains is a must- they are delicious!

My cousin and me are on a girls trip, and I found this Waterfall and Rum tour on Viator. Great price and exactly what I wanted so I booked it. Das was exactly on time and called me, because I was in the elevator at 8am. I was grateful that he called because another tour my cousin booked did not! We rushed out and he was waiting in an immaculate air conditioned van. Extremely friendly and professional. I didn’t realize the Falls and Appleton were so far away. He made the trip as comfortable as possible telling us the history of many places along the way. He was incredibly friendly and kind by taking us every step of the way up to the YS Falls. Then he took pictures of my cousin and me at the falls so we didn’t have to think about it. He, then, took us to a place so we could have lunch before the rum tour (smart man!).

The scenery was incredible and his driving capable and steady. He also came with us on most of our tour of the Appleton Estate, and continued to bless us with amazing pictures, pointing out local flora (such as akee fruit and papaya trees). Just an incredible gem of a person, considerate, thoughtful, knowledgeable, friendly and kind.

Would highly recommend.

We were so happy, with this booking, Mama G was our driver, she was on time and very skilled at navigating the curvy Mountain roads. She made an extra stop to make sure I got my favorite rum at a fair price.

OMG, Momma G is the best!!!!! She was very knowledgeable, pointed out places of interest and historical locations while traveling to our destination. She also made a couple of stops for us on the way back. Definitely book her for the best experience. It also helps that she knows the workers at Appleton who also adore her. God bless her to be around on our next stay in Montego Bay.

This tour is well worth it. Our driver Des picked us up where we asked, no problem. It was just me and my girlfriend. Montego Bay to YS Falls was about a 2 hour ride including quick stops for some local eats. The brown stew and curry chicken was what we needed to start our day. YS Falls was amazing. A sight to see for sure. Hey, jump in while you’re there! We dried up and changed before heading to Appleton Estates for rum tasting about another 30 minutes from the falls. An awesome hour tour of the property with a complimentary drink to end it with samples of their different reserves. The ride home we stopped for some jerk chicken, red stripe, and rum punch to hold us off for the ride. Oh and I can’t forget the mangoes! We happen to see a vendor on the side of the road… 300 Jamaican dollars got us about 15 mangoes. Talk about a bargain. All kinds, and juicy! Since it is mango season in June. Das was very informative and really knows his way around the island. There’s so much to talk about on the ride you don’t even notice the time passing by. I highly recommend this tour.
