Recommended by the New York Times in the article "36 Hours in Venice!" Venice Music Project takes you back to the time of Casanova and Vivaldi!
You will hear the music of the great Venetian composers, played just as it was in Vivaldi's time, on period instruments. Through our "musical archaeology," we are also finding incredible music that has been lost in the archives, and you can be the first to hear it in modern day.
Every concert is different, we offer different programs, therefore we highly recommend you to visit our website if you are interested in the specific program.

Viator described the Programm as a concert of baroque instrumentalists with authentic instruments. Instead it was a choir concert. The performance was rather average, yet good enough to enjoy. The Venice music project ist yet a more or less non-commercial project , with a professional scientific approach that is worth supporting.

VMP offers a program of baroque music rooted in the city's history. Arias with the excellent soprano Liesl Odenweller who directs the project and guests, and chamber music with a very good group. Everything in the Scuola Grande dei Carmini in Campo Margherita with a visit to the room painted by Tiepolo included. Tickets online or at the school ticket office. VMP offers Saturday nights much more than the usual four-season repeats offered elsewhere.

Excellent performance by such talented artists. It was a joy to hear works of art not commonly performed. It is a must see/hear when you are in Venezia!
Brava/Bravo to Liesl, Massimiliano, Cecilia, Alessandro, Serena & Marija!

I'm generally lucky enough to come to Venice annually, and any visit to Venice is always improved with some glorious live music, transporting us back to the 18C when this city was on the cutting edge of Western music. The Venice Music Project has performed in a number of venues in the city over the years, but their semi-permanent base of Saint George's Church seems to very work well. The programs are on the short side (meaning easy to fit into a full day of activities and before dinner), chosen with care, and performed with energy. There is generally a good mix of instrumental and vocal music. In a recent concert I was particularly impressed by the violinist Giacomo Catana and the lutenist Ivano Zaneghi. Both were superb. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend a performance by Venice Music Project (VMP)! My friend purchased the tickets at home on the US online, then four of us went our first night in Venice. You get an authentic experience in a gorgeous setting, and feel transported to another time. These musicians deserve our support for the effort and expertise they have honed over many years. Your Venice experience should absolutely include this in your itinerary. Go see a concert with VMP and then have dinner nearby. What a night!
