WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Cusco Cathedral
On this day, you will discover the best places in Cusco and its surroundings. We will start with the Cathedral located in the Plaza de Armas. It is the main church of the imperial city and was built on the palace of the Inca Wiracocha. The cathedral features over 300 paintings from the Cusco School of Art.
2. Qorikancha
Next, we will head to Qoricancha, which in Quechua means "Temple of Gold." It was the first temple built by the Incas, which was formerly covered in large quantities of gold and silver.
3. Sacsayhuaman
We will leave the city of Cusco to visit the Saqsayhuaman complex, famous for its huge megalithic stones weighing over 150 tons. During the Inca Empire, it was considered the Temple of Lightning, dedicated to "the god Illapa."
4. Q'enqo
Next, we will visit the Q'enqo temple, a place dedicated to Pacha Mama (Mother Earth) where you can see intricate stone carvings.
5. Puka Pukara
Afterward, we will arrive at the impressive Inca fortress, Puka Pukara, which means "Red Fortress" in Quechua due to the reddish stone structures that make up its walls and buildings.
6. Tambomachay
Finally, we will reach Tambomachay, where you will see the sacred temple dedicated to water worship, which likely also served as a purification bath for Inca rulers. In the late afternoon, we will return to Cusco, where we will drop you off at your hotel or, if you prefer, at the Plaza de Armas. Note: The remaining time is for the round tour and time spent sightseeing or explorations.

The City tour takes you to amazing places of Cusco that without a Guide you cannot enjoy and learn about history and culture. The tour was conducted by Guide Carmen who explained with many details the history of the places we stopped.

First walk we made in Cusco. Very rich in culture and the guides have demonstrated a lot of wisdom in us show everything and tell the story. And it is also a walk to acclimate with the altitude.

Amazing landscapes and perfect Inca constructions. The view to the city of Cusco from above the mountains is also wonderful, in addition to the beginning of some trails that they themselves used.

Our tour guide Davide was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and personable. Every stop was completed at a great pace, allowing us time to absorb the rich history along the way!
