We, Koa & Sam, are outdoor fanatics—and we are probably some of the friendliest people you will meet in Korea. (According to 5,000+ people who came before you)
First stop is a traditional market and it's snack time. Here, we will sample several local snacks. (Some are vegan friendly!)
Our hike will take place along the ancient fortress that was built on Inwangsan mountain about 600 years ago. We'll get to see how stunning Seoul looks from above. We'll sit down at a peak and gaze at the sunset.
The hike lasts about 90 minutes, and we'll reach a peak at 240 meters (780 feet).
Then head over to a legendary restaurant in a lantern-lit alley. There is no better way to end your trip than devouring homemade-style dishes along with some rice wines. (Vegan available)

Started out with trying some good food in a market. Then came the little hike up the stairs along the old fortress wall ending with a great night view of the city! Love the skyline view all lit up at night.

This was a highlight of our trip to Seoul! It's been a while, and we still tell friends about it. Sam was SO friendly and knowledgeable. The hike was super cool, but I think my favorite part was the second half of the tour - eating/ drinking in the city. I got a feel for the city and culture in a way I never would have on my own. Highly recommend!

I did this tour a few years ago (Oct 2018) and I still remember it fondly! Sam was so knowledgeable and created a great group dynamic. We learned a lot about local foods and customs, saw fireworks, and had a delicious meal. I’d definitely do a tour with Sam again!!

Loved this experience - the hike was beautiful and a unique way to explore the city. Sam was personable and fun - we were able to sample several types of makgeolli. It was a great way to cap off our trip!

This fortress night hike hosted by Sam was the most memorable experience during my trip to Seoul. The timing was perfect because we got to see breath-taking views during the sunset. I did this actitivity early May 2023 and the weather was perfect. Most importantly, I felt safe and appreciated how kind and helpful Sam was- he made sure everyone was doing well during the hike and he was super chill. I enjoyed the conversation- it felt like hiking a good friend. I learned some interesting & unique things about Seoul and its history from a local's perspective which is special.
The hike length was perfect and not difficult (easy to moderate depending on your fitness level) - however it is important to have the proper shoes and be cautious as you step in certain areas. The cherry on top was the meal at the end at a local & authentic "hole in wall" restaurant. I loved the small streets we walked through to get there and the delicious food we ate- this was also special because again it felt like sharing a meal with good friends. Do not miss out on this wonderful experience- I would 100% recommend this hike and in fact I hope to do it again if I'm back in the city!

I participated in this experience with Sam in April 2019.
I count this as one of the best in my life, because Sam is conducting it in a very engaging way for every person in the group. Additionally, the combination of a hike and food/booze experience was also perfectly composed. Although, not sure if they offer the same foodie experience - it was not about a snack and a local market back then.
