The return transfer experience was horrible. They were supposed to return me to the airport from my hotel (the same hotel THEY dropped me off at when I arrived) but sent pick up airport to hotel again details, too late to change it was hung up on twice so I booked elsewhere to make sure to catch my flight. They would not refund me on THEIR mistake..They made same mistake on my groups transfer but they returned a few days after me so their transpo was corrected..I lost $156

I heard about First Class Butlers through a colleague who leads luxury wellness retreats for women. I told her I was planning to take my mom to Mexico for a vacation before she started her breast cancer treatments. She immediately said, “Contact First Class Butlers”.

My first interaction with First Class Butlers was to send them a DM on instagram. I explained the following: dates of travel, flight details, that we were staying at Mahekal Beach Resort in Playa Del Carmen, the hope that mom in her wheelchair would be able to do a mini excursion to see the beautiful church in Playa Del Carmen, try some tacos at El Fogon, do a little shopping and maybe see a cenote if we could find a wheelchair accessible one. I also explained the desire to do a private tour of Tulum’s ruins, visit the famous jungle gym there and do a little shopping. That’s all I told them. From that brief information they LITERALLY SHOCKED me by the amount of details and customization they provided to make our trip so outstanding. Above and beyond is the understatement of the year.

Airport Transfer
When we arrived we had two First Class Butlers (Alberto and Oli) meet us in a spiffy and professional uniform and they had a sign with “Aloha” and a hand drawn Shaka sign (we are from Hawaii) with all of our names on it. They also have a bouquet of flowers to my mom upon arrival which absolutely made her feel so special. When we got in the nice black shuttle they had mom’s favorite snacks (Cheetos!) and drinks. How did they know?! And again she laughed herself silly at the feeling of being cared for so well with so much thought and detail. On the way to the hotel the shared the history of the area and kept mom entertained. As an introvert it was nice to relax after a long plane ride and allow someone else to take over.

Private Playa Del Carmen Excursion
On our itinerary was a visit to the local church by the Caribbean sea,, Maria Bonita Hotel, a wheelchair accessible cenote and tacos at the famous El Fogon we saw on Netflix! Again, my sister and I could take our hands off th wheel and allow Alberto to take over. Why? Because he pushed moms wheelchair throughout the entire trip. Carried bottles of water in the cooler on his backpack, helped us determine which tacos to order at El Fogon, added a cool side stop to visit a rooftop of a hotel to take some incredible pictures and the bets part? He FOUND an amazing cenote and coordinated access to a special entrance that allowed mom to bring her wheelchair down the path to the cenote. And yes, he maneuvered her wheelchair up and down the steep path. He also sat with mom while my sister and I swam in the cenote and even got her fish food to feed this fish and also sat and talked with her the entire time to keep her company. Oh and bonus, Alberto volunteered to take photos of us during the entire excursion and they are some of the best photos of our entire trip.

Private Tulum Excursion
On this trip, I was able to visit the Tulum ruins with a private guide, make a stop to the famous jungle gym on the beach for a workout and get some tacos on the way home. I had a general idea of what I wanted to do, but it was so nice to say, “Can we pullover and get tacos at that taco stand, where all the locals are waiting in line?” Being able to make this trip whatever I wanted, with the safety and professionalism of a local guide is priceless. They made this day perfect and exactly what I wanted.

Summary
All in all, Alberto and Oli of First Class Butlers, made our vacation in Mexico remarkable because they truly care about the details. They’re not just good at what they do, they are excellence defined. To have someone know how important this trip was for my mother and to make sure she had the best experience is one thing, to go above and beyond by having all her preferred snacks, a hand drawn sign that she would love upon greeting her, a bouquet flowers with her favorite colors, carrying our bags and water, pushing her wheelchair, finding a cenote that would allow her to bring her wheelchair down, keeping her company and entertaining her at all times, helping her choose on the menu at el Fogon what to order based on her preferences for spicyness, negotiating and coordinating with any other businesses we worked with on our behalf so we didn’t have to lift a finger. That? That is priceless.

Thank you Alberto and Oli for making my mom’s vacation before starting chemo so special and for making this trip to Mexico one for the memory books. We hope to visit again soon!

First Class Butlers elevated our trip beyond our even our highest expectations. They are saved in my phone and will be an essential part of any future trips we take to Cancun, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum.

Overall: If you are looking for a way to elevate your vacation, do yourself the biggest favor and contact First Class Butlers. I almost made the mistake of trying to arrange the services myself, but I am so very glad that we went with their professional team. They know the great, the good, the bad, and the ugly; which saved our group so much time and effort! Most of us only have a set amount of vacation days, so we always want to maximize the time that we have together. My family left our vacation feeling like I got the most out of every single minute.

Originally, I found First Class Butlers when looking for Private Transport. I was very excited to learn that transport is just part of their service package, which for us included Private Chef Services, Local Guide Services, Excursion Booking, and General Vacation Management.

General Vacation Management: Alberto was incredibly patient with me before our trip. He asked the appropriate questions about our group to make suggestions for activities and services we might enjoy. He was able to stay within my budget and the services he recommended perfectly paired with our group. The attention to detail is second to none. I mentioned we have a Pineapple allergy before the trip. On the ride in, my wife brought up her allergy and Alberto said "I remembered, you will find no pineapple in the car, the house, the chefs have been notified and the menu items have been adjusted". When we ordered at a restaurant, he emphasized every time "No pineapple" to make sure we were safe throughout the trip.

Transportation: We arrived in the hectic Cancun airport with very specific instructions from Alberto before our plan had even left the Taxiway. We have images to guide us and even tips to help us get through security and baggage claim easier. The transport vehicle was the most professional in the loading lot. Limousine Black, with a driver that was separate from our host Alberto, plenty of charging ports for phones, water and snacks. The driver and Alberto were dressed very professionally and were instantly improving our vacation. The AC was cold, they loaded our bags, and they had both drinks and snacks ready for us.

Alberto was a great guide, telling us as much as we wanted to know, and with just a few requests (pharmacy, grocery, etc) Alberto was able to take us to the best grocery and lunch spot available before taking us to our Villa, arriving exactly at check in.

Outside the initial drive, the team was flexible to picking us up at multiple different times, they were available at our preference to take us into town, and they were open to being our local guides when needed.

Chef Service: Truly, a must add service for your trip. We booked the chef service for 5 total meals. Holy moly. Please be sure to book this service at least once. It is comparable to a nice restaurant meal in cost, but is absolutely above and beyond in every other way. The food was fresh, the shopping was done for us, we had multiple paired courses and were served custom drinks to accompany the meal. We asked for an emphasis on fresh and it was exactly what we received! Then, just like in a restaurant, we did absolutely no cleaning! We went from the dinner table to the beach, no worries in between.

Bartender Service: At first, I was hesitant to order the Bartender service. I am a simple drinker, more whiskey and sprite, simple mixes. Oooof I was wrong! We ordered the bartender service for one day and left the trip wishing we had sprung for two. The bartender was friendly, fun, and TALENTED! The bartender started the service with margaritas to get everyone going, then started taking custom drink orders. If you could say it, he could make it taste good! Our house favorite was the Fig Margaritas, which were incredible. My wife has been searching for Figs, which are not native where we are from, so what an awesome surprise that was. When our drinks were low, they were immediately replaced with a fresh one, the old glass removed and washed. Their goal was to make sure not a second of our vacation was spent doing anything other than vacationing, and they succeeded!

Excursion: We opted to go on a Cenote tour. Unfortunately, while we had 3 lined up, we had to change our plans last minute. Fortunately, we had Alberto leading the way for us and completely avoided what would have normally been a hectic situation of cancelling and lack of refunds. With Alberto, we literally just asked for a change and it was done. He was able to take the family to a beautiful Cenote with ziplines, food, and somehow set it up so that we completely avoided any crowds. Maybe it was just luck, but it seriously felt like a private Cenote tour. We had so much fun. Whatever we needed, whenever we needed it, it was provided to us so that we could continue having fun and soaking in the experience.
