Visiting the Rocinha favela, one of Rio's hundreds of "favelas" (the Brazilian term for a slum or shantytown) and the largest in the country, is a local experience that gives you the chance to see Brazil from another point of view. With a resident guide, take a non-intrusive walking tour to learn about daily life in the favela and gain insight into the challenges these communities face.
When your tour is finished our driver will be heading back to Copacabana neighborhood crossing the beaches of Leblon and Ipanema, therefore you must inform our tour guide where you are staying so we can make sure you are dropped off as close as possible to your hotel.
Duration of our tour including pickup and drop off is around 3 hours.

Our guide Bruno, who is living in the Favela, gave us a great experience with authentic insights. We startet at the top and walked down to the bottom and saw all parts of the favela, even the worst ones.
Thank you Bruno for the great tour

Our guide Daniel was amazing !!!!! He explained everything with details , the history of the favela, how they live there , and he make us feel super safe all the time, and part of the favela as well.
He speaks English and Spanish perfectly, and we were super comfortable with him.
Totally recommend this trip if you come to Brasil.
Thanks Daniel for such an amazing experience. We will come back for sure. 👌🏻 ❤️

We had a very intense and interesting morning thanks to Daniel, our guide. We felt totally safe and having a tour inside the favela was really eye-opening. This tour is really worth it because Brazil is not just beaches and touristic things.

My tour guide was Daniel, also we had Anderson who stayed in the group's back to make sure everyone is ok. I really enjoyed everything about this tour!
Very informative, nice walk inside the favela. The guides were very carrying, waited for us to take pictures, safely got us across the busy streets etc... also i love that we had a lot of interactions with local kids. With some we had a chance to play football, other showed the 'favela dance'.. i dont know if it was part of the tour, but i really liked it!
Really recommend this tour! It will take your Rio experience to another level!

Daniel, our tour guide, was energetic, passionate and dedicated to educating us about life in the favela. These tours draw awareness to the needs of the underprivileged population living in these favelas, and are extremely informative, educational and eye opening. We felt very safe throughout the tour with Daniel. He knew many of the locals and hot spots and was very assuring of our safety as he guided us through the favela.

Alberto grew up in the Favela and he knows every corner of the Favela. He introduced us to his friends, his neighbors, even the neighborhood cat 😜
He knows the history so well especially the political situation in the country. I feel so safe having Alberto as my tour guide and enjoy his tour very much.
For readers out there, Favela is not as dangerous as the media shows. In fact, I feel so touched seeing how the people in the Favela help one another to get through their financial hardship. It is truly a community where everyone helps one another.
