Skip the entrance lines and climb to the top of Brunelleschi's Dome with an expert guide! Majestically dominating the city skyline, the terracotta dome of Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore (or Florence Duomo, as it’s more commonly known) is easily Florence's most iconic attraction. Experience this masterpiece of architectural genius.

Please be aware that every 1st Tuesday of each month, the Cathedral Museum is closed and will be subsituted by a guided tour inside the Baptistry.

• Minimum age is 7 years. Children under 7 y.o. are not allowed. Children not included in the total number of people in the booking, will be denied access to the tour
• Good physical condition required
• Good walking shoes required - flip flops are not allowed
• Most catholic churches in Italy require a dress code in order to enter. For The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, you are requested to be covered from shoulders to knees (shoulders, chest, stomach and thighs must be all covered by clothing) It is permissible to wear shorts, provided that they are long enough to cover your thighs and knees. You are also permitted to wear tank tops or spaghetti strap dresses, but you will need to bring with you a garment (shawl, jacket, cardigan) that can cover all the exposed parts between your shoulders and knees when you enter the building. Thank you for your understanding and if please contact us if you require further clarification.
• The tickets included with your tour are valid for one-time entrance to every site of the Opera del Duomo complex (Museum, Bell Tower, Baptistery, Crypt). As part of the tour, you will enter the museum, private terraces and climb to the top of the dome. These sites will not be accessible a second time with the ticket that we provide. So, for example: If you wish to visit the museum again after the tour, you will need to independently purchase a new ticket. You can use the ticket provided to enter (one time per site) the remaining location: The Bell Tower, Baptistery and Cathedral Crypt. Post-tour the skip-the-line service is no longer guaranteed. Please show your ticket to the personnel at each site and they will indicate the first time slot available for you.

We really enjoyed our tour of the duomo and the dome climb. The climb wasn't bad at all, in fact we had a nice little rest stop to walk out onto the terrace which was fantastic. From there we walked back inside onto a narrow walkway to view the ceiling of the Duomo. To see the painted Duomo from a closer distance was stunning and worth it. I would caution anyone who has a severe fear of heights and/or claustrophobia to think twice before starting the climb. When I booked the tour, I must have missed some pics or reviews of this part of the climb. To view the ceiling you have to walk onto a narrow walkway and may be required to wait there for several minutes to allow people to exit the stairs who are descending the dome. Personally, I was fine, there is a tall plexiglass barrier above the railing. However, my son who has a fear of heights/claustrophobia (although he made it to the terrace and was doing okay) could not walk out onto the walkway to view the ceiling. After waiting several minutes on the walkway another woman had to turn and exit due to extreme fear. If you can manage that, then it's all worth it, but if you can't then it's best to view the dome from below. Had I realized ahead of time I would never had made my son start the climb. Just another tip for the future when I am researching tours. On a positive note, the terrace and the break on the narrow walkway to view the dome, gives you a chance to catch your breath before finishing the climb.

I knew I wanted to climb the Duomo while in Florence for the first time. This tour made it so easy and convenient! My guide was fabulous and I learned so much about the historic parts of the city and about the construction of the cathedral. For most of the tour our group was alone in areas I’m sure get super crowded. Highly recommend!

Great tour to the top of the Duomo, with some good commentary in between. Sometimes things got a little rushed BUT the ticket means you can return to view most of the venues in slow time, so you do get to enjoy the whole experience.

Well worth it! Our top-notch experience included a tour guide full of fun facts and a sense of humor that led us all the way to the Duomo and back! Totally worth it to skip the line and experience the place without all the crowds. We also enjoyed the museum tour where our guide gave us the highlights and knowledgeable insight into the art, history, and architecture of the Duomo. You can't miss this iconic stop in Florence!
