Meet your local guide in central Florence and begin your 3-hour gourmet tour of the city! Italians usually start their morning at a café with a strong cup of coffee, so follow your guide to a typical Italian coffee bar, where you can try two types of delicious coffee and learn about the local roasting process. Continue to an old delicatessen founded in 1885, where you’ll enjoy a panino tartufato, a delicate, truffle pâté sandwich made with the truffles for which the deli is famous. Manuel, our guide was passionate (having grown in a hospitality household) and fun. He was friendly, informative, easygoing and patient. We are only a small group, 7 in total and so we enjoyed some great chats over yummy food. Walking around, sampling some delicious food and wine only made me want to come back again because there's so much to eat! Given that Florence is famous for its steak, would have been nice to have it included, even if each of us only get like 2 small pieces :D

The white wine was good and cheap at 7 euro a bottle.

Some other things could be improved. The coccoli is supposed to be served warm with melted cheese. It was cold with non-melted cheese. The truffle on bread was served with what I feel was not so great bread.

We were brought to a shop that sells bottles of vinegar, olive oil, etc. I thought the olive oil was not great for the price they are selling it at.

I asked the guide how olives are processed before being sold and she didn't know. Given the importance of olives to the cuisine and this is a food tour, this is disappointing.

I don't recall the pastry at the second to last stop being explained to us. It would have been better if we could learn some more about the pastry tradition in Florence/Firenze.

We had the best time on our food tour through Florence! The food was AMAZING, and our guide was so kind and knowledgeable. We enjoyed getting to sit down at so many places because we got to know some of the other members of our tour better as we all sat and ate. 10/10, would definitely recommend!

This really was a small group - 8 people, which was great. We enjoyed our guide, Dimitri. We made 8 stops and enjoyed an incredible variety of food and wine. Everything from breakfast to dessert, and everything in between. Included the San Lorenzo market, which is a must-see. The tour operator also went the extra mile to accommodate food allergies/restrictions (although gluten free was difficult).

Great tour with a great guide. Highly recommend if you enjoy food walking tours. In 4 hours we learned a lot about Italian/Florence cuisine while enjoying great food and drink along the way.

Federica with Fat Tire Tours is amazing! She very graciously helped me make a change in my itinerary/tour, and did everything possible to work out the details, (even though she could easily have said I was past the deadline for changes and there was nothing to be done…)
But she happily and efficiently came up with a fantastic solution to my problem, for which I am so very grateful!!
The world could use more of this kind of OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Christina was an excellent guide with the tour providing exceptional tasting experiences of truffles, olive oil, ragu, sweet treats and various wines and other foods. The historic venues were an amazing discovery we would never have found if not on the tour. Would definitely recommend.
