Rio secreto is a must visit if u r near palaya de carman area in mexico. We booked our tour via sunwing and our guide NAOMI was amazing. She is very knowledgeable and kind. She explains everything in detail and was very patient as i did not know swimming. She was very kind to help me float in the caves.
I recommend book plus tour that’s worth ur money

This was a miserable experience for my 7-year-old. The water was way too cold for him, but there was no way to turn back once we got to the cave. So he had to spend more than an hour shivering and crying while swimming around sharp rocks in a dark cave. And after it was over, our guide got mad at us when we skipped the overly air-conditioned photo-viewing room and went straight to the warmer eating area (food was lousy). He learned the phrase "stink-eye" after seeing how the guide looked at our group. I know we were a difficult bunch, but one would hope they would make allowances for a seven-year-old boy. No such luck. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

This was a very cool tour with a real underground cave experience. However I had a really big issue! We were not allowed to take our own pictures, and the pictures you see posted which are the same as every one else, have to be purchased for $30 each. This would still be fine, if my pictures were crap quality, many of them a branch was blocking face. This completely ruined my experience because I wasn’t told about this before. I was impressed with the tour, Leslie our guide was great, but the only memories I will have are about the sadness of not having memories.

Our guide, Alfredo, was fantastic! Very knowledgeable. We enjoyed feeling the sand/calcium carbonate and turning off the lamps to take pictures.

Awesome experience with Diana as a terrific guide. I suggest that all who visit take this excursion. The water was a bit cold and putting on the wet suit was a challenge but fun on putting it on…..

We loved this excursion! Our tour guide was so sweet and informative , kept us well entertained and most of all safe! The only thing I would say was a slight bummer is you're not allowed to bring in any cameras or phones (understood) but they do have a photographer present who will follow the groups around but... The photo package is $130/$160 , or $30 per photo.

The Rio Secreto experience was amazing and the caves were incredulous to see. Our tour guide Omar was very friendly and so knowledgeable. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I had booked the tour with upgrade to Coba but was placed on the wrong tour to Tulum. All of the tours to Coba had already left so they were unable to place me on the Coba tour that I booked. The Tulum portion was fantastic, but as mentioned before, it wasn’t what I booked and was a duplicate experience.

We had 14 friends and family with a wide variety of ages. Pepe was an amazing tour guide. He kept us interested with the history while keeping it fun for ever the entire time.

Highly recommend this tour and request Pepe if you can!

My husband and I absolutely loved the tour of Rio Secreto. Our guide, "David" was fantastic and told us so much about the history of the cave and included info on the Mayan culture. If you are extremely tall, or are physically challenged, this may not be the tour for you. There is a section of the underground river where the space between the ceiling and the cave bottom is maybe 3ft. and nothing more. We loved the quiet and darkness in the cave. As I am 68 and overweight, I found it somewhat difficult to navigate over the rocks underfoot. But David guided me through and kept telling me to walk where he had shown the flashlight. Although I was quite dehydrated after about 2-hours in the cave, with David's help I made it. Be aware that no food or drinks are permitted in the cave.
