Bodrum overflowing with boutiques, bars, cafes, and restaurants is considered a sophisticated resort yet some 20 minutes away a rare opportunity to visit an un-spoilt mountain village and experience rural Turkish life, almost unchanged for centuries. Meet the humblest peasant whose generosity and kindness never fail to surprise and show hospitality that’s long forgotten. Visit the tea house, the mosque, and some local houses where you will experience delicious Turkish Cuisine and local spirits. In the end, you will see an impressive display of local handmade kilims and carpets made by villager women

For the price, this tour exceeded expectations. This is not your average tour with a polished tour guide giving you historical information. After a quiet drive into the countryside, the guide gives a tour of a small village and gives a glimpse into the everyday village life. There is a carpet weaving demonstration that includes a visit into the shop to purchase the carpets. The carpets are substantially cheaper than in the metro areas. Just make sure to bargain the price down. 😉 We finished with lunch at the local outdoor restaurant with the local chickens and dogs around us as our guests.
