Our Gin tour and tasting is located in a truly unique location. We are based in the heart of The Rocks in Sydney, almost under the iconic Harbour Bridge.
Hickson House Gin has won gold medals at the most prestigious spirits shows, with every product having picked up a gold medal.
The distillery itself it built in a historic bond building that used to house goods sent to Australia from all over the world. One of Australia's largest and oldest gantry cranes was located in the building and the steel girders holding up the building are the same used in the building of the Harbour Bridge under which we are located.
The tour itself starts with a Gin & Tonic before heading into the distillery to learn about the gin production process.
Head back into our award-winning bar and enjoy a tasting of our multi award winning gin range.
Hickson House also features a full bar and dining room to enjoy while spending some time with us.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to participate in a tour during the week, but we were lucky enough to indulge in their excellent gin 'n tonics! I am not a big drinker, but we went back two days in a row just to get one of their delicious and refreshing cocktails! Lovely and relaxing atmosphere. I believe they serve food as well, but we did not try. You can view the distillery through windows in the seating area. Wish we could have taken some of their wonderful Australian gin home with us. In The Rocks district.

We found this tour on Groupon and had an absolute fantastic time. Our lady tour guide was very knowledgeable and took us through the process. It’s an impressive set up. The tastings was the highlight. My non gin loving husband has now been converted to gin. The gin here has many different flavours and strengths. It’s very smooth. The atmosphere was great and comfortable so we stayed for cocktails after. Would recommend for sure. They also have a barrel house ( on the main drag in the rocks) which sells beautiful whiskey and gin/whiskey tastings as well.

The gin tasting was fun and the host was great. Tour is a little short but it’s about the tasting. Afterwards we stuck around and ordered some food which was fun.

We did the afternoon distillery tour, were greeted by our host Chessie who is one of the distillers with a welcome gin & tonic to enjoy while on the tour. Chessie was friendly & very informative about the history of gin making along with the process how they make their gin and what different botanical ingredients they use. After the tour we sampled 4 of the gins they currently make. I loved the Australian Dry gin made with a mix of native Australian botanicals so bought a bottle to take home. The bar area & dinning room is stunning, will have to come back & do the tour again & have lunch.
