Innisfallen Island is a real hidden gem in Killarney. The monastery on Innisfallen was founded in the 7th century making it older than the monastery on Skellig Michael. Innisfallen is a magical place, with beautiful flora and fauna, if your lucky you might even see some of the Sika deer that live on the island.

Ruins of a 12th century Augustinian Priory & Romanesque Church are still on the Island today for you to explore. There is limited access permitted to the island daily so be sure to book your place.

Beautiful, historical island filled w/ monastary ruins & lush flora & fauna. Walking through the quiet, peaceful, & visually stunning landscape along the lake shoreline is good for the soul & mind. Our boat captain was friendly & informative (Dermot) & got us there & back safely & comfortably.

We went on a less than ideal day as it was very windy, rainy, and fairly cold. However the guide was very friendly and accommodating. He also offered to stay on the island rather than leaving and coming back in case we wanted to head back early due to the weather.

Innisfallen is a magical place, and Dairmid was a wonderful guide, friendly and informative about the island and the area around Killarney. The tour provides enough time to explore the monastic ruins and walk the entire path around the north end. It was the perfect way to spend our day. Thank you!

Loved the experience - great way to see some beautiful sights. Even though the weather wasn’t brilliant, we still enjoyed the trip across the lake to the island. What a lovely place to explore!

We were the first tour of the season and the access to the boat and the pier to the island was flooded. This did not stop Timothy! He picked us up in his truck and drove right through the water, ferried us to the island (even though a blustery day), and carefully pulled us up on shore to explore the island. It was a wonderful experience to be able to see the ruins and the island’s wild deer population being the only people there. Very unique experience!!!!

Couple of tips for those going during March: 1. Hiking boots a must- island can be very muddy and wet 2. Warm layers and rain jacket with hood ! 3. Definitely need to be able to walk around and climb as much of the terrain is uneven.

I did two tours with them. The first was the Innisfallen Island and the day after the Gap of Dunloe Boat and Bus tour. My tourguide for both was Timothy and he told us all the interesting facts about the surrounding area. The mountains as well as what kind of fish are in the lakes. During the Innisfallen Island tour he told us about the monastery and in what year it can be dated. He also told us a few things about Ross Castle.
After the Gap of Dunloe Tour he dropped people off at their Hostel/Hotel or the city center.

This was one of the highlights of our trip in Ireland. The island is so peaceful, beautiful and green. The kid kept saying a baby dinosaur would appear any time. The skipper said it was a magical place and indeed it was.

We had booked in advance and arrived 10 minutes earlier. A boat was about to leave with a French family and the skipper - a rather old man - told us to get on board without even asking for or checking our booking. I wasn't even sure if that was the right company. The family paid when we returned and I think it was less that I had paid in the booking. That was a bit weird...

Had a great ride to the island and a wonderful walk through all the ruins. We ended up having the whole island to ourselves and even watched a family of deer.
