This is the best activity you can do in the afternoon in Antigua. This tour will take you to 3 mountain tops with incredible views of the city, valley, and volcanoes near and around Antigua. Our first stop is ¨El Cerro de la Cruz ¨ Antigua’s famous lookout point known as ¨The Cross¨. After getting a close-up aerial view of the colonial city, we hop back on the vehicles and head up the El Hato Mountain towards our Second stop. We arrive at our parking lot in El Hato where we hop into our 4*4 pick-up truck which takes us to the ¨HOBBITENANGO¨.
This is a lord of the rings themed Eco-Park where we catch the Sunset and are able to enjoy some food, drinks, and games. Here we will go up the hill and sightsee, enjoy great views and various activities in this enchanted little forest. Once, finished we will head back down the mountain where if you are hungry we can grab some food and drinks at a Guatemalan restaurant located on the side of the mountain called El Tambor.

Despite the heavy rain and thick fog, the tour was fantastic. Our guide, Eric, was incredibly knowledgeable and offered excellent assistance while driving the ATVs. The highlight, however, was his eagerness to help us capture all the photos and videos throughout the tour.

Hobbitenango is worth the visit.

Had a great time with Erick as our guide, but all the other guides were also excellent and recommended restaurants to try. If you are going to Antigua, you most definitely need to try!

I arrived past the tour start time due to flight delays but the company still let me come and even gave me a private guide to help me catch up to the rest of the group. I was so appreciative of that, most companies would make you reschedule but not them! It was a great and fun tour.

Alex was our guide and did a great job of getting us safely around on our ATV’s. We were able to get great photos, have fun, and travel far into the mountain and see Hobbit homes at Sunset!

I had the pleasure of doing this excursion with my family and our guide was Luis. He was great. He detailed all of the places we visited, gave us time to enjoy and take pictures and even took pictures/videos of the group since we were unable to as we were driving the ATVs. Highly recommend.

I loved this tour and would recommend to anyone traveling to Antigua. I’d suggest bringing a jacket because it gets cold the higher up you go and be ready to adjust to the altitude. The sights were beautiful and the ATV ride was fun especially at night. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

What a great experience! Very professional & involved Guide! It was beyond my expectations. If you plan to visit Hobbitenango, do so through this activity! Trip Tip, if you come in my low season (rainy season), do the activity in the morning. I did the activity in pm and we had a lot of rain! We were still able to enjoy the activity 100% which, in general, was great!
