Vesuvius (from April to early-November), an active volcano boasting breathtaking views of Capri and Sorrento. At Vesuvius, you can choose between an invigorating hike to the renowned crater or opt for a more leisurely naturalistic walk alongside a professional geologist, revealing the hidden wonders of the Vesuvius landscape.
5. Amalfi Coast
***If Pompeii, Amalfi & Positano option selected*** After some free time for a few last pictures of Pompeii and lunch (at own expense) the tour will continue further south along the picturesque seaside roads of the Amalfi Coast where the Dolce Vita was born. Here your breath will be taken away by the spectacular coastlines as the mountains cascade into the sea and romantic villages climb up the mountains like grapevines.
6. Positano
***If Pompeii, Amalfi & Positano option selected*** The winding roads will lead you to one of the most beautiful seaside villages that the Amalfi Coast has to offer, Positano. Here you will have free time to explore the meandering streets lined with artisanal local shops or just sit back and enjoy the incredible view while sipping the local specialty, limoncello! Whichever you choose you will be sure to remember your afternoon in this jewel of a seaside village.

• During summer months in rare cases of inclement weather or strikes, the crater of Vesuvius may be closed to visitors, therefore, if this is the case, it is replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city.
• From early November to March the Vesuvius isn't accessible and it is replaced with a visit to Positano where you will get free time to explore the city.
• Option to upgrade to Pompeii, Amalfi Coast and Positano Small-Group Day Trip from Rome with private coach (Mt Vesuvius or Naples not included)
• Please be advised that in the case of events beyond our control, we may need to adjust our itinerary to ensure the safety, quality, and satisfaction of your travel experience.

• The hike up to the crater of Vesuvius requires a good level of general fitness. The walk is uphill at a 14 degree angle and takes roughly 20 minutes.

Our tour of Pompeii - high speed & missed off several highlights. Marched back to entrance to return our headsets. Asked if we could visit the gift shop & was told “No” because we had to pick up pizzas. We were incredibly disappointed in our trip. Our goal was to visit Pompeii and it isn’t clear that it is just a tiny part of the day (1.5 hours of 14 hours travel!). FIVE bathroom trips on one journey is crazy. Perhaps your company should focus on getting people to their desired destination to enjoy the places they’ve waited a lifetime to see, & less on kickbacks from side gigs.

Pompeii and Vesuvius are impressive historical sites, worth of visiting for sure!

However, the tour operator could make some improvements:
- the tour bus that was advertised to be air-conditioned was extremely hot, so hot that stepping out from the bus to the direct sunshine (+36C) felt pleasant and refreshing.
- at the lunch restaurant service was slow, so slow that the guide instructed the group to go to the bus, and three tables were still waiting for their dessert.
- the tour guide in Pompeii made constantly dirty jokes that made the guests embarrassed on his behalf, it is an impressive historical site, the guiding should be kept professional!
- the bus offered water for sale, but one could pay only in cash. Note this! Italy is still not cashless. Operator though should consider offering a more modern payment method too.

Despite the improvements needed, I still rate the tour high. Both historic sites are truly impressive!!!

What a memorable experience!! We had a wonderful time at Pompeii and climbing Vesuvius!! Our tour guide, Angie and our driver, Giovanni are second to none and truly made the tour!

Great tour to do two activities in one day. We were lucky to get Angela as our guide and Giovanni as our bus driver. Angela gave excellent instructions and great information about the history of the area. Everything was on time and we even got an extra stop at a Limoncello store.

Johnathan was an INCREDIBLE tour guide! His story telling abilities made even a long bus ride, enjoyable. He was very informative on all topics covered throughout the tour, as well as other topics for our trip to Rome (history of Roman food, sites seen throughout the drive, etc.) Highly recommend this tour and if you are lucky enough to get Johnathan as your guide, you are in for a great day!

Good tour but a lot of driving. Seeing Pompeii as it was in 79AD was very impressive and learning about their history and how the people lived.

There were overlapping tours and Pompeii was very overcrowded (nothing the tour operator could do however). We were given a map only at the end of the tour, which didn't help us while we were there.

Enjoyed the stops along the way (again 3+ hours each way) but the shops and restaurants chosen for us were ridiculously overpriced.

We loved the Pompei and Vesuvius visit. Claudia was extremely knowledgeable and insightful as a tour guide who had a magnificent sense of humour - really brought the tour alive. The guide at the Pompeii museum was also very engaging and the day was really well planned. Would 💯 recommend to others!

Eduardo (tour guide) and Andrea (hope that's correct name of the bus driver) were AMAZING! My wife suffered a mild case of heat stroke on the tour and these men were so wonderful with all their help for her. Plus they both were very entertaining and knowledgeable throughout the whole tour. Grazie!!!
