9am and 11am departure times tour Oak Alley Plantation and are 7 hours and 45 minutes in length returning to New Orleans at 4:45pm and 6:45pm respectively.

1pm departure time tours Destrehan Plantation and is 5 hours and 30 minutes in length returning to New Orleans at 6:30pm.

1. Oak Alley Plantation
9am & 11am Departures - 7 1/2 Hour Tour Your 1.5 hour Oak Alley experience will include a docent guided tour of the plantation home, a self guided tour of the grounds and many photo opportunities along the way. Save room for a Mint Julep or refreshment from the snack bar.
2. Destrehan Plantation
1pm Departure Only - 5 1/2 hour tour Established in 1787, Destrehan is the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi Valley. It is also the closest to New Orleans. Built by Free Person Of Color Charles Pacquet, she has survived colonial and civil wars, occupation by the Union Army, abandonment, decay and restoration, and has now been preserved in all its glory for you to enjoy. A short drive away from the grand River Road, you'll experience another another side of Louisiana culture in the Manchac Swamp. Cruise through this private wetland with homegrown captains who, like the early Cajuns, sustain their way of life fishing, hunting and trapping. Alligators recognize tour boats as part of their normal environment. Unafraid and responsive to their boat captain's call, they peek out from underbrush and between moss-draped trees, frequently coming directly to the boat. In the safety and comfort of the boat, you can actually come within a few feet of jumping gators.
3. Lake Pontchartrain
Although called a lake, this is actually a large lagoon and brackish estuary fed by fresh water rivers and connected to the Gulf of Mexico. Covering 630 square miles (1600 km2) it is one of the largest wetlands in North America.

View the spillway, a flood control operation in the Lower Mississippi west of New Orleans. The spillway, when open, allows floodwaters from the Mississippi River to flow into Lake Pontchartrain and thence into the Gulf of Mexico.

This privately owned wildlife refuge ensures that you won’t encounter any other boats during your peaceful journey into the swamp. Local Cajun captains share personal tales of their own swamp explorations and fascinating information on the plants and wildlife you'll encounter. This was a great tour a lot of history and the swamp tour with captain dustin was AWESOME! We held a baby gator and saw the captain feed the gators.

Bus tour guide "Elizabeth" was the worst guide we have ever experienced in 30 years of travels. Scattered, talked more about herself, and denied the tour patrons hours worth of informative/historical/geographic information. She needs to be re-trained, re-programmed or she should find another job. Extremely disappointing!

Our tour guide Elizabeth was amazing and very knowledgeable! Oak Alley plantation was beautiful and the grounds were beautiful. The swamp your was fun, lots of gators and the boat driver put on a great show feeding them . He was able to call them out.

Kate and Bryant were excellent guides! I loved the history Kate provided en route to our destinations, and Bryant always lent a hand when exiting the bus. They did a great job of keeping us on time and provided the perfect mix of guidance and letting us explore things for ourselves.

We had a blast. Most everyone we interacted with was so friendly and knowledgeable. The only feedback we had is that the Oak Alley portion of the visit was very rushed. We didn’t have time to see everything before rushing to get on the bus. An extra hour would probably be about right. Swamp tour was very crowded (several members refused to sit down blocking other’s view) but we saw so much activity and the guide was probably the best we could have ever gotten. Thanks!

Really nice tour. The plantation was beautiful and has a nice gift shop and cafe. The swamp tour was amazing. We got to see so many alligators! The captain was so funny and he got so many alligators to the side of boat with raw chicken. We also got to hold a baby alligator. This was my daughter’s favorite part of our trip to New Orleans!

We highly recommend this tour, it was honest, insightful, funny and 100% worth your time. To see the beautiful Oak Alley Plantation in person is breathtaking. The swamp tour during January isn't as exciting, but it wasn't the tour company's fault it's just the time of year there's not much going on in the swamp. The swamp tour was also fun, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and personable.
