We arrived early and easily found our tour guide. She deftly guided us through the shogun castle, subway and imperial palace. At the same time, she explained interesting features, history and Japanese culture. This was an excellent tour and I would highly recommend.

This was an amazing personalized tour! I would highly recommend over a big group tour if you’re interested in learning the history of the Shogun or Emperor. Plus both Niko-Ji and the Imperial palace are beautiful!

My wife fell sick so this ended up being a 1 on 1 tour for me and made for a very personal and unique experience. My guide was so well prepared and knowledgeable about the castles and answered so many questions for me. Since it was a 1:1 tour we were able to have great convos around the differences in our respective cultures, the good and bad going on in each of our countries. Very personal and memorable. Guide was very courteous and always offered to take pictures of me since I was alone

Chako (spelling?) was great! She did a great job explaining things and is very sweet. Unfortunately, the inside of Nijo Castle was closed but we still went over the rooms we would have seen. Of course, the sites are up there for must visit places in Kyoto.

Nijo Castle and the Imperial Palace were both very impressive and beautiful. Choco, our private guide was very kind and patient, and explained everything very well. Choco made sure that I was alright since I need a cane to walk. It was a hot day, so, she made sure that we had water to drink and made rest stops whenever it was needed. I believe she went above and beyond as she called a taxi for us and waited with us until the taxi came so she could be sure that our return to the hotel went well.

The guide was knowledge and congenial, and the sites are magnificent. Choco knew the history of the sites well and was able to fully answer my many questions. I would highly recommend this tour.
