An unforgettable experience. Mercado La Merced and Sonora is like diving into another world. Very original, Mexico far away from the usual tourist places. Our tour guide Gabriel knew the two labyrinthine markets like the back of his hand. And you should definitely visit these markets with someone who knows their way around. Gabriel had a lot of insider knowledge and provided us with Mexican delicacies and interesting food and drinks. We tried our way through Mexican cuisine, including insect tasting, tacos in many variations, etc. So here's a tip: come with a good appetite, there's a lot to try.

My partner, my parents and I had a fantastic time on this tour! Gabriel was an engaging, well-informed, and accommodating guide who made our experience so much better than it would have been without him. We had great food, heard interesting facts and stories, and traveled into parts of the market we didn’t know existed, let alone knew how to find. He was also helpful in accommodating my partner’s dietary restriction and my father’s physician limitations.

This was an excellent tour of the Mercado La Merced and Mercado Sonora. I have been on market tours in Mexico City before but what made this one special is that instead a set itinerary, Gabriel listens to your interests ans takes you to see the things you want to see. I was the only one on the tour and it felt like a personalised experience. Gabriel grew up around the Merced market and his depth of knowledge shows. When I asked him if it was safe to visit Merced and Sonora markets by myself, he told me exactly which streets to use to enter the markets and which streets to avoid.

We had a great time walking around the market and eating with Gabriel. We learned a lot about the different foods and about life in Mexico City. Gabriel was an excellent guide and very nice. Would definitely recommend!

I’ve spent a lot of my time traveling around México and I have to say that this Mercado is one the biggest Mercados I have ever been to. The tour guide has plenty of experience in the Mercado. His family has over 30 years of working and serving en La Merced. Gabriel was very attentive and open to answering any questions or concerns. I highly recommend coming to experience something new and spending time with the locals.

Really different from the tourist places the market it's really popular for the local people the tour was really fun we love all the food that we taste Gabriel show us big part of the market and answer are questions fully recommend.

Wonderful it was a really exciting experience Gabriel was really good he knows the market really good these is something you gotta do if your visiting mexico city my wife and I liked a lot it's a really different experience from the tourist places

Gabriel was the best tour guide ever! He guided us through the maze of Mercado de la Merced and Sonora. He took us the places he knew and liked. Everything tasted amazing. The markets were crowded but clean and beautiful. It was sensory overload of the best kind. Thank you Gabriel for the truly exceptional tour.
