The guide was very pleasant but the tour felt rushed with no real opportunity for questions which was a shame. It would have been better had the guide given fewer facts and spent more time providing insight through stories.

Although it was a very hot day, our tour guide Romano made it worth it. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history related to ancient Rome. It was a great experience. The only downside was that our itinerary showed a different order and changed our time for a half-hour later without a notification. Because of the extreme heat, it would've been nice to know there was a change and also correct order. Would recommend the tour, just be sure to communicate with the host if wanting more details on the tour.

The tour was amazing, saw the Colosseum, Forum & Pantheon- what incredibly stunning & atmospheric place. The guide was very friendly & knowledgeable & learnt lots of fascinating things about Rome & its impact on today. It was quite fast paced, perhaps the guide could do with a flag. We got lost at one point, but the guide was smart & got the company to call me & direct me to a meeting place. Great as we didn’t want to miss the Forum!
A great experience & would recommend.

Unfortunately, my experience with this tour company wasn't overly spectacular. I booked this tour weeks in advance, and was excited to see the Colosseum from the Arena and the ancient ruins in the forum.
Two days before the tour, the provider sent an email and advised that the 'arena area' has been removed from the package due to a 'ticketing error'. This was extremely disappointing as I selected this tour specifically for this inclusion knowing that my time in Rome will be limited. Their customer service team was also very unhelpful in providing any alternate solutions, and said they can only offer a 'partial refund.' That 'partial refund' amount is still yet to be confirmed... which is concerning.
In terms of the actual tour itself, it was average at best. The tour went for approx. 2 hours, with 1.5 hrs spent at the forum, and 30 mins at the Colosseum. The issue with this is that we arrived at the Colosseum at 6:15 pm without knowing that the place closes at 7:00 pm. So, when the tour finished at 6:45 pm we had no free time to explore the Colosseum any further as staff were ushering people out.
Lastly the tour guide. Unfortunately, I was unable to grab her name however she seemed quite disinterested and bored throughout. She was visibly sick and was often coughing into the microphone - making it very hard for us to hear and listen to what she was saying. Had I known that this was going to be the experience, I would not've invested +$230+ into this experience.
I understand that the quality of tours/tour guides may differ from this provider, so I am suggesting to proceed with caution if you intend to book with them.

Elida was a fantastic tour guide. She provided lots of historical information through out. It was very hot on the day of our tour. She took special consideration to find shady spots for us to cool off. We had small children in out party she helped to keep them in the group as well. We had a great time and would highly recommend this tour.

We were only in Rome 1 1/2 days and 3 months before our trip, I booked the Colosseum tour and a Vatican tour. One month after booking, our Vatican tour was cancelled and I was unable to find another tour at a time we could make it. A couple days before our Colosseum tour, they changed the time and made it almost one hour earlier. Since our flight was delayed we just missed making the tour. If it wasn’t pushed up, we would’ve been able to take the tour. I made all our plans months in advance and coordinated times to our availability. You can’t cancel for a refund but Viator can make changes without regards to our schedule.

They contacted me 24 hours before the tour informing me that they were changing the time. Unfortunately, the new, earlier time conflicted with another scheduled activity that could not be changed. They were completely unhelpful in resolving this. We could have changed it to a later time but they refused and absolutely refused to offer a refund. DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH THIS COMPANY!!

We had a tour with Laura and it was awesome. She had great stories of the gladiators and was really knowledgeable. The tour was well organised and entertaining.
