You'll have a new appreciation for ramen after our class!

I went to this class with my son. We made the ramen broth from scratch...even hammered the bones to split the femur. We also made the noodles and gyoza from scratch. After about 3 hours of work, we ate our yummy lunch. We had a great time, learned a lot, and ate yummy ramen and gyoza!

After months of planning and exploring countless activity options for our Tokyo trip, I finally decided on Baba Ramen. It’s hard to please everyone, but Baba Ramen hit the mark and did not disappoint.

This was a truly hands-on class that started with a bit of the history of ramen before diving into the cooking. We got to make the same types of ramen served in the restaurant, along with some delicious gyoza. The class was immersive and not simplified at all. It felt like we were prepping in a real restaurant for that night’s service. It was awesome and so much fun!

The ramen we made was some of the best we had in Tokyo. I’ve already recommended this class to my friends planning their trip to Tokyo. If you’re looking for an authentic and engaging cooking experience, Baba Ramen is a must!

Great class, fun, informative, and very hands-on. You also get a delicious bowl of ramen at the end, that you made with your own hands (and feet) - definitely something to write home about. Would 100% recommend. Thanks Andrew!

Bit of a torn review here. We really liked the man who runs this overall - he was good at answering our questions etc. our issue comes with the way ‘jobs’ are divided out. One lad attending the class seemed to quickly become the teachers pet, and subsequently got most of the experience. Myself and the other women in attendance were mainly tasked with cleaning, something that has struck a nerve with m. This could have just been a coincidence, as I mentioned the man running the session came across well, however, We are all paying the same amount, so should be given the same exposure to learning how to cook.

The day we attended the suis chef called in sick, which also added to the fact we didn’t really feel like we got a full experience. Other people attending the class had to teach us how to make the noodles, and they didn’t really know what they were talking about so we missed out on a huge part of learning.

No refund was offered. (I think we are owed one here given we missed out on so much because of this!)

This to me, isn’t a cooking class but more of a working in the kitchen experience. Fun, but not what we had hoped.

The star of the show is the man who runs this, couple of tweaks to the structure of the day and he’s onto something good but it’s really not there yet.

This was such a great class! Very hands on, so you really get to learn the process. We did the Tonkotsu (pork) broth with a shortcut, that tasted like we had cooked it for the 3 days it normally takes, so it was also great to learn a more manageable way of making this at home. Andrew is a great teacher, and you can tell he loves what he does; 2 days later he sent a detailed document with all recipes. I would 100% recommend this class, it adds something very special to your trip and you get to bring back home an applicable skill.

Chef Baba was amazing!! He took time to explain all the types of ramen before we started cooking, then he walked us thru each step of the process and made sure we did everything right. I wish I had more time in Japan as I would take the class again!!

A great morning. Very much an immersive cooking experience. The food was all easy to prepare and any level of cook could attend and learn something. Although there was a lot to do, it was also very relaxing. Andrew juggled 10 students well. You won't get the chance to do everything, but it is still a great learning experience. Our day was made greater by the people that attended that day with us. Lots of laughs in the heat of the kitchen.

I attended Andrew's ramen and gyoza workshop with my adult son on the first morning of our two week Japan trip. What delicious fun! We were taught so many real skills and now have the knowledge to recreate these recipes back home. He made it so easy. Great experience I highly recommend to anyone who loves good food.
