Akihabara is not only Anime and Mangas. We have many other threads of OTAKU and Akihabara is one that caters to so many of them.
While the focus is of course the Anime and Mangas and the 2.5 dimensional world that this consists, we will be looking deeper and explore the backstreets of Akihabara and check out some of the food culture, game consoles, pop culture snacks, cosplay, purikura, arcade games and more.
Should time allow, we may visit other otaku spots to help you get a bigger picture of the otaku world. We may visit one of the top three shrines of EDO Tokyo to give you a glimpse of the historical and traditional culture aspect aside of the pop culture available here in Akihabara should you be willing to tip the guide for additional services.
A unique Maid Cafe Theatre performed by actual maids cafe maids can be provided as an option on Wednesday which the traveler must reserve beforehand as tickets can be difficult to obtain. Let us know.

Most of the tours listed for Akihabara seems to have the same stuff so I wasn’t expecting much of a difference but Max proved me wrong. We went through the history of Akihabara, explored not just anime Okaki but the other Okaku cultures, got tips for shopping because it was difficult to fit in shopping within the duration of the tour and access to a high profile and very difficult to enter Maid Cafe, @Home Cafe. Max even touched upon Akihabara food and sweets so it was up and beyond expectations.
If you are traveling with family with an individual into anime/manga, this tour will be great because it will cater to the interested and not so interested.

The best part was going to the back alley and off the beaten track locations. The free drinks were good. My son and nephew appreciated the opportunity to shop.

My guest from the US is a big fan of Japanese games and anime, so he was like very excited about retro games and lots of figures. Many shops that the guide showed him seemed have fit his interest. He was impressed with the story about old Akihabara and entertained at a maid cafe. He was like, "I've never casted spells on my juice!" when he came back.
Thanks for the fun tour!!
