Still thinking about this tour a month after going, conversations we had and the many things I learned. Highly recommend if you would like a full insight of life in North Korea without crossing the border. The restaurant visit was beautiful and Jun was a lovely, interesting, open, honest and kind host.

I am a second generation Korean-American and half of my mother's family was separated and remained in North Korea. I came with some friends who are not Korean and none of us were sure what to expect going in.
To say that we were touched by Jun's story is an understatement. I think particularly because there was no sense of a "sob story" angle, but just the intention to express an honest perspective.
Jun gives a very straightforward account of North Korean life and his escape. It's impossible not to take in the complexity of what it means to be North Korean and the misunderstandings most people have.
On top of everything Jun is extremely kind and the tour itself is well-planned and organized.

The was by far one of the BEST tours I have ever done. Jun is AMAZING. The tour was informative, humbling and thought provoking.
The food was fantastic and a rarity. Absolutely delicious.
Jun shares his personal story with you and it is humbling and inspiring. He answers any questions you have.
It was like hanging out with your new best friend.
A once in a lifetime experience- I would rate 100 out of 10

Our guide was amazing, we loved hearing all his stories and he did a wonderful job pointing out all the important sites. We took tons of photos and get to ask lots of questions. I would recommend! I will also use this guide for future tours!

A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me to spend time with someone from North Korea!! Jun shared so much information….I absolutely loved it! I was able to ask so many questions, and I appreciated all of Jun’s answers. I don’t think there is a similar tour available right now, so I would book it in a heartbeat:)

We were looking for an DMZ tour that would go beyond the usual guided tours. Jun's views on the DMZ and his personal experience really made this tour fascinating, and gave us a great perspective! My 8 year old loved the tour.

We loved the authentic North Korean lunch as well and Jun's explanations on the food.
We also feel it was good value for money, especially as it was authentic, personalized and gave us comfort and flexibility when traveling with small kids. Thanks for your kindness Jun!

Experiencing the DMZ up close and personal, right next to the North Korean border, was incredibly immersive and detailed. The lunch was surprisingly authentic and delicious. The history shared was deeply moving. Jun, our guide, has a big heart and treated everyone with great respect, making the journey smooth and compassionate. I would definitely do this tour again.

We were looking for a private tour of the DMZ with an English-speaking North Korean defector, to hear the person's life story.
At first sight, we noticed that Jun's business was recently established with not so many reviews. However, there were no other options to accommodate our specific needs. We asked Jun to customize our tour to include the 3rd tunnel, and we were able to do so at an additional cost.
On the tour day, he was waiting for us in the lobby of the hotel. We were very interested in hearing Jun's life story.
- How was his life in North Korea?
- Why did he decide to defect?
- How did he get from North Korea
- How is life now in South Korea?
We had plenty of time to talk on the tour and get answers to these questions in the car.
We had a delicious brunch with genuine North Korean food and drove to observatories to look through binoculars at the North Korean side. The 3rd tunnel we added as an extra (not included in Jun's original tour - performed by another company) was not so impressive.
Jun is very open-minded, approachable, honest, and relaxed. We could talk about anything and his English was excellent (one of the best we talked to on our trip). If you want to know a North Korean person on a personal and deeper level packaged with an interesting sightseeing of DMZ - this tour is a must!

Jun provided a really fascinating and unique tour; giving us insights into the Nth Korean culture.
He was very open about the differences between Nth and South.
The car was very comfortable. He was punctual and polite.
We enjoyed a delicious traditional meal prepared by a beautiful woman who is also Nth Korean.
Highly recommend this tour
