We did this as a birthday celebration for my daughter. Dodo was a wonderful host and teacher. We loved getting dressed up and taking pictures in the garden after the ceremony. It was great for a family to enjoy together. Highly recommend.

This was truly a spiritual experience. From the dressing in kimonos, having my hair done in the traditional style, and the reverence of our host as she took is through the rituals of the tea ceremony, we thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend!

The whole experience was immersive, cultural and spoken in beautiful English etched with distinct Japanese influences. The ladies were graceful from the Kimono dressing, to styling your hair, taking pictures in the beautiful gardens and delivering the history and etiquette behind a traditional tea ceremony . The sweets were delicious and the Matcha Tea was flavoursome. Absolute must do in Kyoto.

Excellent first experience in Kyoto. Highlights were getting in character by wearing kimonos and the well-organised and information hosts. There are numerous and varied opportunities for photos. The main photo is slightly misleading as the ceremony takes place with around 10 others but it’s very good value overall.

This was so much fun! The ladies doing hair and helping us into the kimonos were very fast and did a great job making sure we felt pretty! The tea ceremony, treats and brief history lesson were good! We also had some time to get beautiful photos in the garden area.

This was a wonderful experience, both the tea ceremony and donning a kimono. The staff and hostess (Sono) were absolutely fantastic and no problems with the language, they all spoke very good English. You must try this if you visit Kyoto.

Tea Ceremony in Kyoto - at the entrances in a small and Narrow Street. We were there as a part of a large group and they did have enough space to accommodate the around 30 people. The host explained the history of matcha and the Tea Ceremony and went through the process of the Tea ceremony. The guests were given matcha in a small bowl with hot water with instructions on how to make the Tea from matcha in the traditional manner. Since we were in a group and time was limited, it felt a little rushed.

If in Japan, do attend a Tea Ceremony experience, preferably wearing a Kimono.
