1. Galleria dell'Accademia
First, explore the city center, including the historic Academia. This gallery is home to one of the world’s most iconic statues, David, by Michelangelo. Your guide will discuss the artistic mastermind behind this giant nude statue and his other 16th century works on display in the museum.
2. Piazza del Duomo
After the Galleria dell’Accademia you will explore the Piazza del Duomo, located in the heart of Florence. The square is one of the most visited places the city and in Europe!
3. Duomo - Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore
In the Piazza del Duomo you will discover all about the Cathedral of Florence and its beautiful Dome which were designed by Brunelleschi in the XV century. During the tour however, you will not go inside the Dome but you will learn all about its fascinating history whilst observing it from the outside.
4. Battistero di San Giovanni
You will also see the Baptistery of the city, a religious building in Florence and one of the oldest buildings in the city. It is renowned for its three sets of bronze doors, which are one of the finest examples of renaissance art. *Other landmarks located in the Piazza del Duomo are the Loggia del Bigallo, a late Gothic building, the Opera del Duomo Museum, a museum containing many of the original works of art created for the Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore, the Arcivescoville and Canoncici’s palace, all located in the west zone of the square called Piazza San Giovanni.
5. Via dei Calzaiuoli
Next, you will walk along what is known as Via dei Calzaiuoli, a wide and long pedestrian street connecting the Piazza del Duomo with the Piazza della Signoria. It is probably one of the busiest streets in the city, lined with elegant boutiques and fancy restaurants.
6. Piazza della Repubblica
After this you will visit the Piazza della Repubblica, a public square that marks the ancient Florence. The square was completely re-designed in the XIX century and during the tour you will learn all about the changes done in the city during the period.
7. Piazza della Signoria
Afterwards, you will visit the Piazza della Signoria, the political square of Florence. The square is full of many original statues, such as the first public fountain of Florence, the Neptune which was done by Ammannati, or the amazing Perseus done by Cellini in the XVI century. There is also replica of David which was placed to show people where he stood before the statue stood before it was moved inside the Accademia.
8. Palazzo Vecchio
The main attraction you will discover is the Palazzo Vecchio, the city’s townhall. It is considered the main symbol of civil power in Florence. The original building construction began in 1299 above the ruins of the destroyed Uberti Ghibelline towers and is attributed to Arnolfo di Cambio.
9. Fontana del Porcellino
Just before finishing your tour, you will touch the nose of the “Porcellino”, a fountain of a wild board, an act considered to bring you good luck!
10. Ponte Vecchio
Your tour will come to an end at Ponte Vecchio, the main bridge of the city and the first built in Florence. It is the only bridge to have survived WW2.

12. Gallerie Degli Uffizi
After a break for lunch, we move inside to the Uffizi, Italy’s most visited museum. Designed as a building for the offices – or uffizi – of the Florentine magistrates, the structure grew to house the stunning collection of art amassed by the wealthy Medici family. Overlooking the Arno River, the gallery is as picturesque as the many paintings hanging on its walls. You’ll learn about its turbulent history including a mafia car bomb and severe flooding that threatened the artwork. The Uffizi has undergone extensive modernization through the early 21st century, making it a world-class museum. More than 100 rooms highlighting the best of Italian art from names like Titian and Caravaggio. Discover these Renaissance works and the artists behind them, like Raphael’s “Self Portrait.” See the most famous paintings like Botticelli’s “Primavera” or his iconic “Birth of Venus,” a work that has become a cultural reference over the past few hundred years. This tour ensures you will leave Florence having experienced the best it has to offer.

Fantastic experience, our guide Sabrina was incredibly knowledgeable and definitely added value to our tour with wonderful art history, she was also fantastic in navigating the city despite all the road closures for the Tour de France

We met our guide at 1230pm, her name is Elana Riccio. She was very pleasant and gave us a very behind the scenes tour with an emphasis on history and the significance of Florence over the centuries. She was incredible and tought me so much more about Florence even having been there before. A wonderful person that made it an off the charts experience, we are very grateful for her time amd attention and all of the memories created.

First time to Florence-and I read all the reviews to select this tour. Our experience was perfect. Babylon Tours sent a photo of where to meet along with meeting points. (This was very helpful as all tourists are wondering “am I in the right spot?) Our tour guide, Laura showed up promptly at 8:50 & we were off. Laura was very knowledgeable about the art & also exceptionally personable, which made for a wonderful walking tour of Florence. She even helped me plot a walking course back to the train station so I could stop at a wine window. 🍷 I was very happy with this tour.

Our guide, Annette was so knowledgeable and friendly - she helped to significantly enhance the experience, especially as a novice to Renaissance art, she was able to help me see and appreciate all the most special aspects of the artwork and the city of Florence. She helped us see new aspects of the architecture and it’s history along with the Medici family influence. Amazing experience, highly recommend!

My wife and I had an absolutely wonderful time with our tour guide, Annette, who was incredibly knowledgeable, patient (we had so many questions), and generous with her time. She masterfully curated our visits to the Academy and Uffizi, and pointed out so many things during our walk through Florence. Annette’s depth of knowledge was astounding, and she was so kind and friendly. We could not have asked for a better experience and we recommend her wholeheartedly!!!

Also, Babylon Tours was very communicative and helpful in advance of the tour. We simply emailed them through the Viator app and received prompt responses (calls, texts, and emails)! We found this high degree of attentiveness very reassuring.
