Very close to Santiago we find this amazing nature park in the Andes Mountains filled with fresh air. The hike is short and flexible to meet one's level of fitness or expectations!
Inside the park, follow our guide on a relaxing 4-mile (6-km) hike that lasts up to three hours. Wander into meadows strewn with wild herbs, and inhale the fresh, calming scents of pine, eucalyptus and cypress trees dotting Villa Paulina valley. Admire the breathtaking vistas and the La Paloma Glacier.
Yerba Loca is home to more than 500 species of plant and animal life. Look for the grey fox or Darwin’s leaf-eared mouse. Overhead, you might spot eagles or the mighty Chilean condor with a 10-foot (3-m) wingspan.
After the hike, enjoy a delightful gourmet picnic lunch, which includes freshly made local bread, wine, seasonal fruit, cheeses & ham and more. We relax, reflecting on the day together. We share what we have enjoyed about our interaction with nature, between us and the beautiful environment.

Constanza (Connie) provided a memorable day for us… a scenic and manageable hike followed by a delicious picnic lunch. We can heartily recommend this trip and would do it again if we return to Santiago.

We spent a lot of time planning for this hiking tour and were really looking forward to it. We were really disappointed when the local operator canceled the tour in the last minute (the night before the tour starting date).

What an incredible experience! The driver was wonderful, guide Absolutely a joy to be with and great at providing hospitality, knowledge, and fun to the experience. They underplay their lunch that is included- it was GOURMET! Had all the Chilean fixings and we all absolutely enjoyed our last day in Santiago. Would 100% recommend this tour to anyone.

It was interesting to see the city as we drove through the financial area and Los Condas on our way up to the Park. The drive is winding and mountain hugging and at times the switch backs are very sharp but Gaston did a great job .
The hike to the waterfall was more challenging than we had understood it would be. More climbing than expected for several in our party.
For regular hikers it would be easy as it is not long but not for those looking for a light hike.. Especially on a hot cloudless day. Bring lots of water. Gaston was very attentive to those who were finding it difficult.
The meat, cheese and bread picnic under the trees by the water was relaxing.
We added the los Domingos market to the end of our trip . It was huge , in a lovely weaving layout , with places to eat and some very nice crafts mixed in with the usual tourist fare.

We had a great time hiking in the Yerba Loca area. Our guide, Gaston, was very knowledgeable. We are avid hikers and he adjusted the pace and the trajectory to suite our interests and abilities. The park is beautiful and you get good views of glaciers in the Andes. We enjoyed our lively discussions with Gaston on a range of topics. After the hike we had a very lovely lunch in the shade. All in all a delightful trip.

We just got back from a hiking tour in Yerba Lica with Claudia. It was fantastic. The views of the glacier were magnificent, and the sounds of nature were so relaxing. The visibility is so much better up in the mountains. Claudia led us on two hikes - the first was relatively short (a warm-up she called it) with a gradual incline. The second was longer and had a bit of a climb at the beginning, but otherwise fairly flat. The dirt road leading in from the park ranger station to the trail head was a little scary, but Claudia knows the road very well. The picnic lunch was wonderful and Claudia actually emailed us the day before to check if we had any allergies or dislikes. Anyway, this tour was the highlight of our short visit to Santiago, and we'd highly recommend it.

Claudia took us on a picturesque hike in the foothills of the Andes. It was a perfect day as we hiked the challenging terrain. The hike was stunning and felt like a scene out of the Sound of Music.
After the hike, we enjoyed a healthy and delicious lunch provided by our wonderful guide.
This day was a highlight of our trip to Chile.

This was by far the best part of our stay in Santiago. My wife and I love hiking and Yerba Loca Park is spectacular. I think we were there on literally the best day of the year: flowers in bloom, not a cloud in the sky, and not a lot of people.
But what made it really special were the people from Chile Off Track: Audrey, Sean and Kim. We got mistakenly picked up by an angry guy from another tour group. Luckily we learned our mistake and Chile Off Track picked us up at the other tour group's location. When Audrey came out of the van, we felt like we were rescued!
The other members of the group were two guides in training: Sean, who drove, and Kim. We immediately bonded with these wonderful people.
Yerba Loca is so beautiful. Impossible not to take a beautiful picture. Audrey, Sean and Kim were very knowledgable in stories about the geology and natural attractions there.
Finally we had a wonderful lunch with fresh bread, cheeses, meats, fruits and excellent Chilean wine.
I can't recommend this enough if you enjoy natural beauty and you like to hike.
