Chichen Itzá, which in Mayan means "Mouth of the well of the water sorcerers" is an enigmatic city and ceremonial center of significant influence. Get to know everything about this incredible archaeological site and its ancient history.
First, head directly to Chichén Itzá from Mérida, and during the ride, the guide will start telling you a bit about the Mayan's and their history.
Once at Chichén Itzá be ready to admire this site before the crowds and heat arrive.
Have free time to explore this unique archaeological site, which has the protection of UNESCO.
After visiting Chichen Itzá, taste a delicious Mexican buffet lunch and recharge energies before heading to the Cenote.
Next stop will be a beautiful cenote where you will enjoy its magical and warm waters where you can bathe and cool off from the heat.
We will finish the tour by returning to Mérida.

We had a wonderful day, Chichen Itza was amazing and the Cenote as well. Our guide Miguel was very keen on making sure that everybody was alright and all questions were answered in detail. We felt cared for all the time and had a great trip! Even more so because we were the only English speaking people on the tour, and Miguel made sure to explain it to us first or at a later point if something was unclear.
For your information, the entrance to the pyramid, the locker and the life vests at the Cenote have to be paid extra which ads another 50€ pP to the price, plus a fee of 60 pesos at Chichen Itza for any camera equipment that is more advanced than a phone (e.g. GoPros or bigger cameras)
Be aware that both places are very touristy so depending on when you go, it will be crowded at and around the sights.
We went in August so the sun and humidity were no joke!! Definitely bring enough water and an electrolyte drink or a snack because you will need it! As this is the rainy season an umbrella might come in handy as well and also some clothes to change (&socks if the path gets a little flooded).

Great experience. They explain the tour program before starting and the guide always kept an eye on us. Be prepared to walk in the sun.

We LOVED our tour with Rodrigo, Carmen, and Raul. They were such a good team leading our group. Rodrigo was so knowledgeable and made the experience so fun and educational. Carmen did a great job handling the admin items and Raul was such a good driver. They are right. It was an experience we’ll never forget in our lifetime. An excellent and special time!
