Hierapolis (“Holy City”) was an ancient Greco-Roman city in Phrygia located on hot springs in South West Anatolia. Its ruins are adjacent to modern Pamukkale. Hierapolis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The hot springs there have been used as a spa since the 2nd Century B.C.E. and people came to soothe their ailments with many of them retiring or dying here. Some of the highlights; the large necropolis is filled with sarcophagi, the main street with the gates and latrines, cathedral, the theatre and St. Philips tomb. The hot springs causing cascades which are called the Cotton Castle. 1. Pamukkale Theater
The 1800-year-old Hierapolis Amphitheater, the most important and original Roman Theater in the Mediterranean Basin. Built for 150 years, Amphitheater There is also the unique 2500-year-old Pamukkale Hierapolis Ancient City, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List both as a cultural and natural heritage. 2. Cleopatra Pools

We visit the natural pools of Pamukkale with our guide. The minarets in the water here change the colors on the rock surface. Therefore, everywhere is as white as cotton. And water has many benefits for the human body.
4. Hierapolis & Pamukkale
The ancient city of Hierapolis has been well preserved and has survived to the present day. The Roman Bath, which we can definitely say that it was visited very often when it was a thermal center, is used as an archeology museum today. Here you can see the statues and other ruins unearthed in the ancient city excavations in Hierapolis and its surroundings. Buildings such as the ancient theatre, temples, monumental fountains, tombs, agora and gymnasium are in such a good condition that you feel like you are in the city of 2,000 years ago. Especially the stories told about Ploutonium, which was believed to be the entrance to hell in the Roman Period, will attract your attention. Hierapolis is also a holy settlement in terms of Christianity. The most important reason for this sanctity is that Phillippus, one of the 12 apostles of Jesus, was killed here and his grave is here. Martyrium, which was built by palace architects in the 5th century and where the saint's tomb is located, is one .

The Pamukkale and Hierapolis tour from Antalya was an exceptional experience. If you are not staying in Antalya but staying in Pamukkale or in Denzili DONOT take this trip as you will be paying more than if you book a trip locally.
Although the trip start time says 7:30 am that is for people living in Antalya.
Pamukkale by itself is a beautiful place dotted with the ancient ruins of Hieropolis. Our tour guide Toylan was a nice person with very little to offer in terms of explaining the history of the place as a guide. He encouraged us to explore the amphiteatre on our own as it was a bit of a uphill walk. The trip itself presented with many oppurtunities of buying souveniers such as precious stones outlet and textile store which took up time in seeing and spending more time in the waters of Pamukkale.

The process took place as described, guide Mehmet tried to stick to the schedule, spoke perfect English, otherwise translated online. 3 options were suggested as to how the time could best be used. He is good informed + helpful.

We are very satisfied. Everything was planned to the second. The small bus meant a smaller group. A new, air-conditioned bus. We send our warmest regards to the guide. We were delighted. Simply a super friendly guide. The buffet lunch was fantastic, a very charming place. Thanks to the guide, we discovered spots in Pamukkale without crowds, perfect for beautiful photos. We are not exaggerating if we say that we are completely satisfied, first of all, we would like to thank the tour company for their smiling face and necessary attention. We were a little suspicious at first, but after the tour we questioned why we thought so much, the guide, the driver, the food and most importantly the natural pools were really nice.
